Meaning that he's the most dominant fighter competing at the highest level atm

yeah, there are several unproven fighters out there who look great against handpicked bums (verdejo anyone?) but GGG is the only one who is fighting top ranked opponents, contenders and ex champions and crushing them all like helpless bugs

Rigo is enormous, but he gets floored by nobodies in japan
Floyd went life and death with caveman Maidana
Wlad got rocked by Pulev recently
even monster Kovalev was backing down at times from Pascal

GGG on the other hand is absolutely dominant
his chin is pure iron, nobody can rock him, every one of his punches hurt and plant the seed of terror in his opponents

his skill is off the charts, so far he's shown he can deal with any fighting style, sluggers like Stevens, slicksters like Proksa, it makes no difference, GGG will just trash em' all

GGG is the P4P king H2H

oh yeah, he'd also beat the **** outta Mayweather, if Floyd ever manned up and accepted a fight at 154

"every one of his punches hurt and plant the seed of terror in his opponents"

that's a gross overstatement. he changes the speed and power of his punches regularly, even the jab. that's part of why he's so difficult to deal with.

I love GGG, but I think that it is ridiculous to ask Mayweather to fight him. Mayweather started his career at super featherweight, which is 130 pounds. GGG, on the other hand, is a full-blown middleweight (160 pounds). Weight classes are there for a reason.

No. Wlad and Kovalev are fighting at a higher level right now.

well, (far past his prime) Duran went up from 135 to beat the 160 champ so it would be about the same thing if Floyd wants to get in the neighborhood with Duran on the ATG list. however, i think it's equally ridiculous to expect Triple G to go down to 154 for his health's sake, even for Floyd money unless he just wanted to cash out.

oh, he said floyd started at super feather 130. i didn't know. so yeah, assuming floyd has never been on drugs that would exceed Duran by a considerable amount, which is unreasonable.

And plus duran kind of ate himself into 160. He was a chubby 160 pounder, hardly in his best condition against barkley. We would never see floyd not in great shape

Duran was in a helluva lot better condition for the Barkley fight than many others obviously, including vs Hagler. i think he went in at 158 or 7. it's amazing he withstood those body shots, he wasn't svelte by any means but not really chubby either.

Yes, he was in good shape but relatively speaking his work rate and stamina were clearly better in the 135-147 days. It wasnt an ideal weight class for Duran. Hagler also comes to mind, he wasnt really in good shape for that bout. Cuevas and Moore were decent and 154 was more reasonable for duran, yet still not ideal IMO.

Some big ol' fans of Gabe Rosado, Grzegorz Proksa, Daniel Geale, and Curtis Stevens out there. Hmm. I didn't know.
