When he met a Master Boxer named Bernard Hopkins. A K.O. artist blazing through the division 34 wins, 29 KO's and got schooled to death. As much as I like Kovalev, I have not forgotten that he went life and death with Darnell Boone and got a Split Decision the first time.:think

Ward is not Pascal, Mohammedi, or an old Hopkins. He is a young, strong, INTELLIGENT, fighter that always does what it takes to win.:bbb

Don't forget that he has faced every style in boxing in a 3 years span clearing out 168. I truly don't believe that power alone is enough to stop Ward from winning a match against both. If that was the case then Kessler or Froch would have done it. :deal

Pavlik was a YOUNG champion that was KOing guys that can punch.

Gigi is old and feasting on guys he KNOWS can't hurt him.

    That's a big difference.

Pavlik was much miore of a fighter than Golovkin.
Pavlik defeated Jermain Taylor who was the undisputed champion of the time, and fought competition at least 2 levels above the b-level competition K2 has been setting in front of Golovkin to make him appear good.

Compare Curtis to Taylor. No comparison.

To compare the level of competition Golovkin has faced to Pavlik you'd have to look at Pavlik Vs. Bronco McKart and Edison Maranda.

Yes Pavlik legendary title reign lol.

If you think Golovkin is anything like Pavlik then YDKSAB.

And again it's the usual suspects trying to degrade the future legend something Pavlik isn't.

Come on man, you should know GGG's a far more well rounded fighter than Kelly Pavlik ever was, and its pretty sad if the only hope you can hold out for GGG getting beaten is by him moving up almost 2 weight divisions to face somebody like Kelly did. That speaks volumes about how good you really think he is.

As far as Kovalev goes, he's more skilled than Froch, Kessler, Bika, Abraham, Miranda ever were and won't have the disadvantage of being drained like Dawson. Make no mistake about it, this is the biggest threat Andre Ward has ever faced in his career. He dropped Hopkins with a glancing hook, and ruptured Pascal's eardrum, blurred his vision and stopped him for the first time in his career, he is a monster unlike anything Ward has ever seen.

gigi is well rounded against who??

gg punches from his waist and pulls back with his hands down.:deal

Pavlik was a young Champ....not some old guy afraid of his own shadow.

    Ward has faced puchers before...

    Kovalev has not.

Pascal is the biggest puncher he's faced:lol:

Pavlik has one big win against Taylor.

Lockett, Rubio, Espino and a loss to Martinez, great title defences lol.

And don't try to hype Miranda he lost everytime he stepped up.

Oh and it took him 9 rounds to stop Rubio and never had him off his feet, 2 rounds mismatch for Golovkin.

First, why is Golovkin getting compared with Pavlik when they're nothing alike?
Both big punchers in the Middleweight division, I get that, but that's where every other likeness ends. Their dicipline can't be further away from eachother, their style is nothing alike, and even nationality wich is often used as a perk here is about as opposite as it can get. It's hard to compare GGG to any Middleweight of the past, but Pavlik is pretty far of.
And then we get the jump to Kovalev... wait what? :conf

GGG's biggest win is Lemiuex and he's lost everytime he stepped up. So Did Macklin, Rosado, Rubio and Stevens for that matter. Prime Miranda would have beaten them all aside from Rosado.
