''Gennady Golovkin is the hardest puncher I've ever been in there with. This dude can hit, man! He can punch for real. And I've been in there with Edison Miranda (and Kid Chocolate) and some guys that can punch. This dude can punch like crazy.''

That's one more world class A list fighter than Bumlovkin has ever beaten. Call me when the Triple Duck mans up and comes off of his Bum of the Month Tour..

Yeah, but lets compare apples to apples here. Bumlovkin hasn't been in the ring with anyone even remotely as good as the Hopkins that Pavlik faced. Bumlovkin problably wouldn't have gone 12 with Bernard that night.

Ok. Bumlovkin has beaten TOMATO CANs of varying styles. Exactly what does that prove? That Bumlovkin doesn't discriminate where TOMATO CANs are concerned? LOL. You keep going on and on about how Bumlovkin has faced and beaten fighters of different styles all while virtually ignoring the 800lb gorilla in the room. What does it matter that Bumlovkin has beaten fighters of differents styles when they've all been TOMATO CANs?

Again, we are right back where we started; Exactly WHO has Bumlovkin beaten?

These guys are so unashamedly transparent it puzzles me as to why they're not all banned permanently including their obvious alts.

Pavlik stepped up to beat Taylor.
Martinez stepped up to beat Pavlik.
Kovalev stepped up to beat Hopkins.
Jacobs stepped up to beat Quillin.

    Exactly WHO has Bumlovkin beaten?

Golovkin hasn't yet achieved what Pavlik did but he is certainly a better fighter than the Ghost.

Kelly was lucky to be in his prime when Jermain Taylor and Hopkins were around. Those guys wanted to fight, at full 160, to decide who was the best and stylistically, he matched up well with Jermain.

Gennady has to deal with a very different situation.

That being said, regarding the title of this thread, I'd say that Ward is a bigger, faster and stronger fighter than Golovkin and if GGG can't make up for that with landing big shots, Ward could win that fight just as easily as Hopkins beat Pavlik.

    Absolutely.

Pavlik's resume leading up to the first Taylor fight is pretty similar as Golovkin's up to this point regarding level of competition. Golovkin has been moved more slowly and has now been waiting for his mega fight which would now be Canelo.
Pavlik was able to secure his big fight vs Taylor largely due to Taylor's confidence and willingness to fight his #1 contender.
