Not good numbers but better than his last PPV. His negotiating power went down with Canelo. Canelo-JCC Jr. will do atleast 600K in buys.

I have a feeling canelo versus Chavez jr might pull some pretty big numbers. A million buys would not surprise me based on the popularity of each guy. this will be a pretty major event in Mexico IMO.

I don't think he sold out either cause I looked at the MSG website a few days before the fight and you could still buy 10 tickets together in a whole bunch of sections and that's not even off resellers. He is a popular fighter worldwide but not so much in America mostly due to his nationality.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm probably underestimating how big that fight will be.

The days of million buys are done. Alvarez will be lucky to pull in 750k against Jr. If Golovkin is really being offered 15 million, he better grab it and run.

Me too, actually. I gave that number as an upper limit. I think around 650K would be a more realistic number.

I read this myself on this forum, it was a lie though.

I went on to buy some tickets, a fair amount where still available, they wasn't discounted though.

If these numbers are true, then boxing is in the gutter. Can't even sell 250k? I mean the entire boxing world was fixated on this fight for the past 2 weeks.

Canelo can fight Liam Smith and nearly double this. Yet GGG fights a dangerous top middleweight with 88 percent KO ratio and only the hardcore boxing base tunes in.

GGG better take whatever GBP offers if he wants the fight

I would agree with you normally. It'll take a huge event to hit a mill buys. And I think this will do it. chavez jr has name value still, and canelo's the cash cow today. But we'll see. I'm actually a little excited for this fight.

It's between two mexicans who have huge fan bases and it's on the national holiday. so agreed.
