Golovkin is exciting but being overrated big time, it seems he has inherited all the old Butte fanbase who were once overrating him, until reality hit. Surely Golovkin, gets hit way too much by these pedestrian challengers and its just a matter of time.
only a matter of time before anyone loses. the thing is, unlike bute he has shown that he can give a shot AND take a shot. His power and ability to cut off the ring and stalk along with his good chin can bail him out of most situations
You know Bute had nine title defense and beated Bika who is now WBC belt holder who just beated Dirrell right and who happened to be Ward's toughest fight yet.
GGG cannot be compared to Bute come on.... Not that he can take a shot but he's nvr been in the floor in approx 400 fights (375 amateur), and let's face it his defence is hardly as gd as Sweet Peas so his chin is made of pure granite It's been apparent ever since he man handled and thoroughly beat up Canelo during a sparring session in big bear he's not just some amateur hype job he is nothing but the truth, as soon as he can get the big fights he will knock those guys down just like all the others
The race motivated Bute comparison have been everywhere as of late. On an even bigger trend, all the Bute haters now seem to be Golovkin haters. Odd how that works.
From what I remember reading about the Canelo vs GGG sparring it seemed competitve throughout with GGG having the edge.
I seem to remember Dougie Fischer (ring mag) stating that GGG hurt him multiple times to the body during a 4 round session and Canelo wasn't motivated for anymore after those rounds This was maybe 2/3 years ago while GGG was still involved in his promotional struggle, long b4 the so called hype train left the station
I read an account that said Canelo was competitive... Still Gs power is out of this world. The only thing I worry about is him falling too much in love with it and forgetting about his skills. He's also been headhunting a lot lately, he need to go back to punishing the body early to take away his opponents legs.
