It's Kovalev, right? Kovalev for having the biggest win (three major titles on the line against a future HOF) or Golovkin for five Ring ranked middles? I might be wrong but Kovalev has only two Ring ranked light heavies, right? How do you figure it?
If anyone else would like pointers on making threads that only I'm interested enough to post in, I will be glad to share my secrets.
I'm not so sure Kovalev doesn't have a better resume as it stands. If he beats Hopkins, his resume shits all over Golovkin's.
If Kovalev does beat Hopkins (and I don't think he will), then he would clearly have a more accomplished resume than GGG.
I think they are about even Kovalev will take the lead when he beats BHop Here's my thread on it. http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=520315
I think GGG is the better of the two and that it's possible that Bernard will eventually get old (as, next month) and be easy pickin's for Kov, but that said, IF Kov wins (and I expect he will), that's a better win on paper than anything GGG has done yet. GGGwould need a Dirrell or a Ward scalp, or a complete clean-out of MW to surpass Kov, were Kov to beat BHop.
Depends. If Bernard folds in two or three (unlikely), and Ward never boxes again (possible), then a win over Dirrell would put GG as the man in two divisions. That and the eye test would put ahead of Kov in my book. I have no doubt he could destroy both Dirrells on the same night. Ward would be a much more challenging proposition.
