Yes, Canelo was the WBO JrMW champion and moved up 10 pounds to 164 give his Mexican fans the fight they demanded.

Golovkin on the other hand was willing to move up 8 lbs to fight a retired fighter but would not move up 8 pounds for legend SOG and demanded 164 instead.
