I don’t think it’s fair to enforce a mandatory less than 4 weeks before the scheduled date.

Unfortunately for Derevyanchenko, he has to wait longer. And if GGG chooses to fight BJS after this, he will have to wait until 2019. Sucks for him but that’s how it is.

It is what it is,obviously we all wanted that Canelo fight as did Gennady regardless of the two tests for Clenbuterol and only a few week ago I reckon most of us thought the fight was still gonna go ahead, something about that has me wondering if there’s more to that story than meets the eye.
Spike o Sullivan is neither a great opponent nor is it an awful opponent, for instance he’s better than that Wade fellow who’s not been seen since.
Another thing I never took into account and if I’m wrong then correct me but I’d read that it was still Golden Boy promoting this show and so with Spike being one of their fighters is there something to that?
Easy to criticise when you don’t know the ins and outs and GGG would of well been within his rights just to cancel the whole thing which would of meant no boxing on Cinco De Maya which is unheard of.
Andrades and the like with their social media call outs and having the bare face cheek to suggest GGG would be scared of him is laughable,if he does want GGG though and with Canelo thing up in the air I’m quite sure he could get himself into position via the usual routes if that’s what he wants, time will tell I guess.

I’d give Spike a punchers chance against GGG,who knows Canelo May have lowered his punch resistance and to be sure Spike will have chances to land his shots.

Spike will be a much better opponent than Chavez,Jr. for sure.................why not Charlo? Where is Charlo, he could fight Golovkin right now! Andrade would get knocked out, Spike comes to fight and will make it interesting for a while, at least he will fight! Hell, Charlo beat a cripple and the fans claim he is an all time great for beating an unknown cripple who could hardly walk across the ring! If Golovkin did that he would catch hell. Golovkin needs a tuneup fight, then we will see, Golovkin wants to fight Saunders ASAP, has been trying for years...........

You know as this thing drags on I’m wondering if the rematch ever happens cause Canelo makes big money anyway and you know I don’t think even Canelo is that deluded to really believe he won the first fight, did well to come away with a draw and I’m thinking he’s happy with that.
They say the boxer themselves usually know if they winning or not and so Canelos actions in round ten and eleven was of a guy knowing he was down in the fight which begs the question Canelo why on earth did you not treat every round like that?
Answer because he only can fight in spurts, never able to sustain pressure after four rounds and even when he does step on it like in round ten even then it’s only about 30 seconds before he’s back on the ropes,he knows this, just as he knows that all the cardio in the world won’t change a habit of a life time.
The bravado he showed when talking of knocking GGG was founded and fueled by something other than his natural skills imo.

Derevyanchenko has made it very clear he's willing to fight, it is an unbeaten opponent whose highly ranked and we'll regarded and it is a mandatory obligation which has to be met at some point anyways.

Fighting anyone else at MW doesn't really make sense to me. Andrade would be a good fight but this fight makes sense on every level.

We are less than a month away, I am not happy with any of the names mentioned.

If it wasn't Canelo, I wanted to see Golovkin Vs BJS or a rematch with Jacobs, Jacobs deserved a rematch in the first place.

But I have to be reasonable, it's short notice, it's just not an ideal situation and I think people have to remember this was all caused by Canelo failing tests and his withdrawal.
