GGG: My advice to Andre Ward is to stop mentioning my name.

Fact is: He is of a higher value to HBO than GGG is.... there is a reason why HBO pays him more than they do Golovkin.

Do you think HBO are braindead? They know Ward's value is very high and that's why the purse #'s are higher than that of Golovkin's fights.

Ward is far more accomplished..... but he just has legal issues atm and a horrible promoter. That is why he's not getting any fights.

Ward is still as big if not a bigger name as Golovkin is..

Enough about the money. I really doubt Ward, at this point, is a bigger name, amongst casuals, than Golovkin. If he was, there would be more demand for him to fight again. Of course I want to see him fight again, but most people out there don't really care. Gennady is their new face and there obviously putting more resources into him, regardless of his purse size. I would imagine Ward would be getting paid more; he's been with a big promoter for years and has more names under his belt. GGG is still a bigger draw at this point.

 

More importantly what did Grachev ever do to become such a good win, apart from losing to a confidence shot Bute. Dude was a kickboxer.
