That's right. He needs to get to his 52nd fight before moving up in weight.

He also needs to wait until he's 41.

GGG had a better resume that Hopkins did after 35 fights. Jacobs isn't as good as Brook either. If Brook was in with Jacobs he'd knock him out with some of those shots he landed on Triple G. This is the same guy who got decked by Malginaggi esq power Sergio The Latin Maggot Mora.

    I don't even know what's happening here.

Could be a hater mocking GGG, could be a random attempt to boost him by a nuthugger. Impossible to tell without context.

    General at its finest.

If it's alright for Hopkins to do it, it's alright for Golovkin.

I'm neither of the above. I just like to point out the double standards.

    Ahhh.

Well, if all you need's a historical imperative, it's actually OK for Golovkin to fight once every years while touring the theatres.

Hopkins maybe but, isn't the op speaking about Hagler? If he's not , I am! At 35 Hagler was retired with almost double the fights of G. Brook comes nowhere near the guys Hagler beat.

G is in a tough spot! The man can flat out fight. He really hasn't the talent below his division or in his division to get the respect that Hopkins or Hagler had. There isn't a styles matchup, were you have a great slick boxer he can go up against or a guy that equals his skill and power. It truly is a shame, he's an exceptional fighter in my opinion. I believe he is the goods and hopefully he gets the matches he deserves before he gets too old to compete. I would love to see him compete against his equal, even if that means moving up and facing a Kovalev, Ward or Beterbiev.

Nobody has mentioned Hagler on this thread. Are you talking about age 35 or after 35 fights? Because after 35 fights GGG also had a better resume than Hagler (who fought a guy 0-1 in his 35th fight. Imagine the uproar had GGG done that)

I think he should fight in both 160 and 168.

No problem. Hopkins was 41 before he moved up.

Well if he does this he will absolutely DESTROY that middleweight title defense record! Held by ‘THE ALIEN’ himself. Not a bad plan!
