Here is Canelo's purses as the B side.
Against Floyd he made 5m+4.5m from ppv rev which is 9.5m. This fight was WAY bigger than GGG/Canelo will be.
Against Cotto which is a better sample to compare to GGG/Canelo his purse was 5m and he made 2m from the PPV rev.

Little G needs to man the fk up and take this offer. Mr. 97k ppv rather fight C level boxers and WW's at 160 than a purse that's more than fair against Canelo. Sick of these little g fangirls crying it's not fair doe, he's getting lowballed doe, and then trying to compare GGG turning down 10 million to Pac who was a ****ing superstar at the time turning down 40m. News flash, GGG/Canelo is not even comparable to Floyd/Pac.

I hear you...the bumdog superfans are too dumb to realize the 10 mil offer already has gggs ppv share built into it....the only legit thing golovkin could say is "well how bout if the ppv sales hit a certain number you kick me a few more bucks"....that's really about it...

these idiots don't realize golden boy has already done projections on what they think the fight would do/generate.....they aren't about to pay him more...and then have the fight do under their projections later....that would be just dumb....this is a big fight and would probably do well...but its not a slam dunk

    Please stop.
Last time I checked it was the yellow Mexican that dropped his belt not to fight Golovkin. And now he trows in a lowball offer for NEXT YEAR. When if he himself might not even be the Ring champion anymore and Golovkin the undisputed MW champion.
At least Floyd's lowball offer was for within a couple of months.

Not even Canelo's advocate for Ring magazine thought it was a legit offer.

Give it a break guys, they are still negotiating. It's for next year so there's plenty of time.

Let's wait and see what happens.

please stop? stop what? bringing to peoples attention that 10 mil is more than fair for golovkin? I know you don't wanna keep seeing that...its just reality...its been pointed out that canelo as a b-side has taken that same number, with his ppv share, in several fights...fights bigger than ggg/canelo and fights that prob do around the same

Gennady's team has to accept the fact they're the B-side. This has nothing to do with resume or skillset, it's just popularity. Now if Kazakhstan bordered the USA, maybe he'd be a much more popular fighter in the same mold of Alvarez. But aside from doing well at selling out tickets to the venue of his fights, his popularity just hasn't translated well in the PPV platform.

He has to roll the dice and just take lesser money and HOPE that a win over ALvarez will help his PPV popularity soar.

FLoyd is the perfect example. By the early 2000's, he was arguably the most avoided fighter due to the fact he was a very high risk fighter who didn't bring much to the table as far as popularity goes. I think in his fight with Bruseles (mid 2000's,) he was barely able to fill half the arena that they fought in.

The moment he beat DLH was the moment he became a HUGE PPV star. This doesn't always happen though (this metaphorical passing of the PPV baton,) because Mayweather also changed his brand at the time from "Pretty Boy" to a more polarizing personality in "Money" Mayweather. At that point, a lot of people were paying just to see him lose. But he found his niche, played the villain role and ended up making over a half a billion dollars from it.

Gennady seems like a nice guy, but his lack of English proficiency and his "nice guy " attitude probably won't ever make him a PPV star. But if he ever had a shot at becoming one, it would be by beating the current cashcow of the sport.

He has no objection to the purse, the PPV share is the problem.

Na he needs to keep fighting Welterweights and Dominic Wades and complaining nobody will fight him. That's what ATGS do.

ok fair enough its not THE GREATEST DEAL but its still the a pretty good ****ing deal like ellerbe said when you consider his history of purses

at the end of the day he has wanted canelo for a long time, if he beats canelo (and most of us think he will) he becomes the top dog and that kind of exposure leads to huge paydays. HE NEEDS TO EARN THE TOP SPOT

a 10 mil purse for ggg to fight canelo would be ridiculous.....10 mil has his purse and projected ppv share built in...and its fair....like is said ggg could ask "hey if we hit a certain number or above it you can kick me some money"....that's about it

10 mil purse for ggg? are you kidding me?

Richard Schaefer would not accept this offer. But I guess all the ESB promoters, CEO's and financial geniuses know better than him. Here is Schaefer embarrassing himself by revealing his lack of knowledge about the boxing business compared to ESB's experts.

I'm not 100% sure of all the details, but from what I've heard, GBP's offer was more than generous.
K2 is just being their usual greedy selves.
