Why? I bet Golovkin understands his situation far better than you and Kovalev understand both of yours.

They should both just speak their native language, Russian, and have it translated. Although, I do agree, there's some comedic value listening to their English :smoke

Kovalevs english is pretty good IMO - quite listenable though I suspect the laconic delivery is partly deliberate.

Golovkins english remains a bit rubbish however and is mainly good for comedic value.

Seems to me Kovalev is naturally the brasher guy though and more likely to want to impress socially whereas Golovkin seems to just be happiest in the gym.

Don't get me wrong, Triple G is the perfect blend of monster, and gentleman, and I love watching him s****. But whenever I hear him speak, I totally hear Borat.

because English is Triple G's fourth language and i think Kovalev's second. why would he want lessons from someone who wasn't fluent in English either? they both probably think more profoundly in English than you do.

Golovkin lives in Germany. Kovalev, I think, just bought a house in Florida. Living where English is spoken will give you a leg up. Smash cut to Kovalev thanking the crowd in Yiddish at his next fight.

If they want to fight in America, they should learn English. If they don't speak the language of the people who watch their fights, then they can't go on television and radio programs to promote their fights.

Pacquiao speaks English and was just on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jay Mohr Radio, The Adam Carolla Podcast, probably Sportscenter, and who knows what else. Sergio Martinez left a lot of money on the table over the years not learning English, which is why he made quite a bit less than Cotto and Chavez Jr in their fights. The Klitschko Bros speak fluent German for their fights in Germany, etc.

They are both fine. English is Golovkin's fourth and Kovalev's third language, I believe and accent elimination is very difficult regardless of how much lexicon improves because English pronunciation is difficult to native Russian speakers to duplicate.

Dude, English is the official language of the Philippines, so Pacquiao better speak it!
