Im not playing anything off. Triple G would be the favorite going in against Martinez, and he would most likely win. Do yo think Martinez is the best middleweight around? You think he would best GGG? They should fight, but we know who's team is hesitant on that.

I don't recall people calling Bute the unofficial king of anything, we just wanted to see him duke it out with the super six winner in order to get an undisputed king. Froch undressed him, so the hyped died with that.

I'm not saying I would pick Sergio to beat him.

But Sergio, at this moment, is way >>>>>>> Golovkin.

If we go by what they haven't done than I could say that Kovalev will pick up one of the very best wins in all of boxing when he defeats near-consensus 2011 Prospect of the Year Ismayl Sillakh tomorrow... But that only looks like a somewhat respectable opinion if Sillakh were to win or fight a very close fight. Otherwise, I'm a jackass because I valued my personal one man opinion over the general consensus of valuing particular victories.

Just like how Golovkin hasn't beaten two top 10 MW's yet. It is what it is. Golovkin is a great fighter against his competition faced. Wilder is a great fighter against his competition faced. But Golovkin has faced much better competition so they aren't comparable, just like how Sergio has faced an incomparably better lineup of fighters.

@nonito smoak: I'm pretty close to thinking you're playing with me... Golovkin hasn't faced a top ten middleweight? Sergio is >>>>> GGG, but you're not picking him over GGG?

I'm not going by what hasn't been done, Golovkin has been on the middleweight scene for a while and has been avoided by a lot of the top guys. Martinez has accomplished a lot, and still is the middleweight lineal champ, but at this point Golovkin is the better fighter, even though Martinez is the official.

Tyrell Hendrix dropped him for the count with a liver shot. GG couldn't breath for about half a minute but he recovered well.

I don't see anyone at 154 or 160 that can touch him. If he fights at 168, it will be far more competitive.

Everyone is claiming Golovkin is the best MW and in this thread they're saying Golovkin is the unofficial king of the division.

    Accomplishments and ability are different.

I may think his ability allows him to defeat Sergio in a fight. But he is nowhere near Sergio's greatness...

That's pretty easy to understand I don't know how you would need clarification.

Ability is simply my opinion. Who they've beat is actually what they've done.

Golovkin has done relatively nothing given the hype and rating he has gotten out of nowhere these last 13 months compared to other fighters more accomplished who are treated with a double standard.

If you argue against Golovkin being the best MW, please, shoot yourself in the head.
