GGG: Never been knocked down or knocked out in over 375 fights

Because he was in a bad contract with Sturm's promoter in Germany. A couple years back he got new management and signed with K2 and has been on the rise ever since.

Actually though GGGs boxing skill is of a very high level but he does a lot of things which are quite subtle.

For instance, watching the Stevens fight, one of the few in which he's actually had to fight a little on the back foot (and lot's of people saying he can't fight on the back foot). Every time he gets near the ropes watch what he does. If he actually finds himself with his back to the ropes he throws a solid left hook whist sorta using the momentum to simultaneouslly push Stevens to the right and step to the left himself getting off the ropes (he does this a coupla times). Alternatively if he's just nearing the ropes he will put his head down, go in close and kinda push and circle simultaneously, every time leaving Stevens with his back to the ropes, without Stevens seemingly being aware of what's happened (and poor Stevens with his corner yelling at him to 'stay off the ropes')

Little things like this and other facets of his ring genearalship show that he's a superb ring technician with both fantastic spatial awareness and the skills to utilise that ability.

 

He was stuck with Universum who have f#kked up many a promising career and may be one of the very worst promoters of recent times. Universums CEO is now both heavily in debt and possibly facing criminal charges over his less wholesome activities (including having the f#kk beaten out of Boytsovs manager) - the company is now, thankfully, defunct as far as I know.

Watched his KO of Lajuan Simon yesterday. That was a peach of a shot (not the Bulgarian meaning).

 

Agreed and he still has work to do at MW. Although I think he is the best in that division right now.

 

I've heard people include the amateurs when referring to how long Andre Ward has been undefeated.

 

Im not sure. I could of swore it was Curtis Stevens being interviewed by Elie Seckbach a few years ago. It's on Youtube somewhere Im just not arsed lookin for it. But either way he was dropped in sparring with a body shot. I know it was just a spar but he still got hurt, he's still human.

I saw that one on here but its not the one I was talkin about, it was in a gym. Im almost certain it was Stevens. It was up on here before their fight.

 

well he doesn't fight at 154 or 168, and I know a boxer with almos 140 professional fights and 1300+ rounds and was never down (almost sure) and no KO for sure, he was a WW champion and his name was Gerardo Gonzalez

 

I'm a yank and I am very impressed with him. want to see more and think he will be the king.
