I still want to know how one swerves a fighter who is tied up in legal issues, then signs on for a tuneup 2 divisions above you.

If it is going to be bandied about so much that it is occurring, seeing at least one rational explanation on how it is possible would be enlightening.

It's pretty simple. Ward's fight is in June. They could easily fight in the fall or Winter. Of course, Golovkin's own promoter has made it known that even if Ward was active that they wouldn't be interested in the fight as there isn't enough money involved in his opinion. Golovkin has no obligation to fight Ward and its fine if the fight doesn't happen. But let's be real, that's a fight Golovkin's side has no interest in making.

The bigger the job the more you want to get paid for it. Simple.

You don't understand the concept of risk and reward. GGG is not scared of Ward.
It's a tough fight for both camps and they are willing to take the risk if rewarded properly however at this time the fight will not bring enough to make everyone happy.

Ward better lay off the donuts and plan to fight more than once every two years if he wants a GGG fight. As it stands, he is fighting bums at a catch weight, not seeking out the #1 fighters.

Its the pinnacle fight for GGG's career, so it will happen towards the end, and hopefully Ward will have done something by then.

As it stands, GGG is calling out the #1 accomplishment of Wards resume, if that fight goes well for him, it will start the build up of a future Ward fight.

If you don't get the business side of boxing - you probably shouldn't talk about it to other people.

don't worry ward fans, only another year or so before you can make claims about fighters ducking your hero without looking like desperate idiots in denial.

GGG has no obligations of facing Ward now, but if he fights and beats Froch he'll have to fight Ward too. If Ward doesn't move up which I highly doubt.

No one wants him to move up. We want that fight because Floyd is champ at 154 and GGG wants to fight at 154. Ward is 172, inactive, says he needs at least two fights untill fighting GGG and brings not even 1% of that money that Floyd brings.

As a fan, I couldn't care less about Ward. If he wanted to fight, he would already do it in 2012/2013 when GGG called him out.

You don't pick a fruit until it's ripe. GGG-Ward is a huge fight once Ward gets active again. Why have it now as a mediocre money-maker when having it next year will be a big money-maker? It's basic business sense.
