Everybody's criteria for P4P is a little different. Mine is a blend of who I think the most unbeatable fighters are with an accomplishment component thrown in, too. Enough of an accomplishment edge can overcome a more unbeatable fighter, but it only goes so far. As such, I have Wlad in my top 3 with Floyd and Ward. They're the most dominant fighters in boxing right now- forget losing fights, they don't lose rounds.

    1. Floyd
    2. Wlad
    3. Ward (If he were more active and not coming off shoulder surgery, he'd be my #2)
    4. Marquez

Those are the top 4. Then, the next tier would be:
    5. Golovkin
    6. Rigo (he and Golovkin are almost purely H2H plays because of thin resumes, even with Rigo's beating of Donaire)
    7. Martinez (the injury and ring age hurts him here)
    8. Pac
    9. Donaire
    10. Bradley (suffers a bit on the H2H aspect, but I have to respect the resume)

An argument is there for guys like Matthysse, Mikey Garcia, Mares, Froch, and Alvarez, as well as some other great but unheralded fighters like Chris John and Uchiyama. Things just get muddled outside of my top 4 because there's not necessarily a ton separating someone ranked 6th and 13th besides personal preference. The only thing I'm certain of is my top 4; the rest is much more likely to change on any given day even without extra fights happening.

Im not making excuses, I picked Golovkin to win you dumb ****

I picked him to win in 6-8 with him answering some more questions and ticking a few more boxes. I knew Golovkin could punch, I knew he could cut off the ring and the only box he remotely came close to checking tonight was his chin although he wasnt hit cleanly that often

This is not me trying to dilute Golovkins win, its me asking questions and not jumping to the conclusion that he is the greatest thing since sliced bread until ive seen him at his best. he is an amazing fighter but again I want to see someone who will make him throw more competent combinations, who will try to outmaneuver him, who will push him onto the back foot and make him fight, how will he re act when a fighter is clinching and disrupting and smothering his work . . . . I want to see how good Golovkin is, im sorry if i dont dick ride him because he scored a KO.

I respect a difference in opinion but how you can have Pacquiao in your top ten confuses me

He looked less than stellar against Shane Mosley, then robbed Marquez of a win in the 3rd fight, robbed himself against Bradley but did not look incredibly dominant and then gets knocked out by Marquez in the 4th fight

I can agree with everyone else on that list being in the top 10 but I think Pacquiao needs to impress against Rios and then some to get back in the top ten

Then the only fighter that can do all or really any of that around
the middleweight division is up at 168, named Andre Ward. I really
see no other fighter that i'd confidently pick to even trouble GGG
    than Ward.

Martinez' style could create problems although due to the age and injuries im not banking on it, at least until i see him fight next

Froch's jab and power could push Golovkin onto the back foot and then jump in and smother him like Macklin tried to do

Ward could smother Golovkins work and limit his work rate along with his head movement

Chavez' chin could hold up and that would be a good old classic tear up with Chavez coming off the worse more than likely

Im not saying Golovkin isnt one of the best fighters out there but he hasnt shown any weakness thus far. its only his first fight really up at elite level (with the exception of journyman Nobuhiro Ishida) and you cant jump on him until you know what he can do, KO's are impressive and Golovkin is a special fighter . . . but more fights will show exactly how good he is

The thing is Macklin went into both the Sturm and Martinez fights with a certain confidence because they're both not big punchers that's despite Martinez's ko of Williams.
I admire Macklin for going out into the big bad boxing world and taking in the best away from the UK.
Macklin is a just above European level but after feeling GGG's power he probably realised this time he was in over his head, but nobody should downplay this win Macklin was no bum.

He actually looked better than Mayweather against Mosley. JMM will always be his Achilles heel, that's just the way it is. And he was actually dominating the previous few rounds of the fight before the 1 punch KO. Despite losing by KO, he's still one of best fighters in boxing, with a skill set that's hard to defeat.

There's not many fighters from at 140 or 147 that can beat him. You can say Mayweather or JMM (it'd still be a tough fight to call), I don't think you can pick many fighters against him with certainly.

    Matthysee...maybe. Everyone else at 140 & 147 gets KO'ed.

Ill keep my opinion on him reserved until after the Rios fight

But i dont think he looked better than Mayweather, especially as Mosley was coming off that big win over Margarito and despite that one scare Mayweather dominated that fight after ad******g

Pacquiao just looked clueless at times when somebody actually moved their head against him, same thing with Bradley.

And to answer your question :

    Marquez
    Mayweather
    Mathysse
    Maidana . . . possibly

its just a shame because Pacquiao could have been better had it not been for all this TR In house/GBP bull****, it limits the fights he could have had instead of Mosley/Clottey/Margarito/Bradley we could have had more interesting fights

Manny Pacquiao from 2008-2010 vs Paul Williams from 2008-2009 would have been a much more competitive fight than a ruined Margarito, who would you have winning?

Paul Williams gets the edge. And it's not because of skill. The size difference would be comical. 7 inches in height and 13 inches in reach advantage. I'm not sure if Pac would be able to reach his chin. Pac is a small 147 lb fighter and Paul was huge for 147.

And Maidana? Not a chance. The guy wouldn't last 3 rounds. I'd favor Pac over Matthysee 65-35. He loves to feast on aggressive fighters.

Seriously if you don't have Mares on your top 10 POUND FOR POUND why the hell would you have Froch, GGG, and Wlad? all those 3 are top 25 but not yet top 10 specially Wlad and Froch, Garcia would be a better name there as well.

Whilst his resume isn't very deep, I think GGG is clearly one of the best 10 fighters in the world.

if you're already wanting to see him against the #1 and 2 of a division he's not fighting in then you must think he's good because those are the same expectations ppl had for Pacquiao and Mayweather
