Also note that Spanish is a lot closer in language than Kazakh. Canelo has no excuses. Not that that should be a reason a reason to hate a guy. Just sayin...

I agree to some extent that Canelo should be spending more time practicing his English, if only for his non-Hispanic English Speaking fans, which he actually has more than he likely knows.

Many from the UK, England and Ireland love Canelo, as do many Americans, Black and White, and other.

I don't believe the days of JCC Sr getting standing ovations BWO of interpreter are gonna last much longer, and Canelo, and Zurdo should try to be the Mexican pioneers in bringing English speaking fans to their feet by speaking it before and after their performances.

Not saying to abandon their native tongue, from which their greatest fanbase lies, but rather to try at least to garner more respect from the non-spanish speaking fans.

I would add though that both Zurdo and Canelo maintain their families in their birth-areas.....not out of necessity because the cost of living might be less, but rather out of respect to their forefathers who likely settled there generations beforehand.
Neither feel the pull of American commercialism or want to walk around as demi-gods among men.
    In those regards.....#RESPEKT

I guess I should have read YOUR post before making my own.

Yes, Canelo has not abandoned his ROOTS in favor of American fanfare.

That said....he's also not milking goats each morning and fetching his own eggs either.:lol::lol:

I'm not down with this idea of fighters having to learn English. Not at all.

I mean, if you're saying along the lines of 'Slavic destroyer #14 needs to learn English to further his exposure', then sure. But a Mexican, nah, or for the benefit of one's anglophone fans, that shouldn't be an obligation.

Plus, it could be seen as a display on loyalty, not selling out, รก la Jose Aldo not learning the language of his oppressor.

ya ggg is nice and funny and all...its all really cute...seems like a good enough guy

but like ward said last summer "guy smiles and waves...then his manager and trainer do all the talking...its easy for him to wave and be all nice guy and then hide behind all of their different excuses and stories"

He's made his priorities CRYSTAL CLEAR, and in PLAIN ENGLISH.

He was mandatory to Martinez who ducked him. Cotto who ducked him, and Canelo who has thus far ducked him.

Sure he's made some good loot watching those fights ringside, but he wants HIS titles, those same titles that Sturm, Pirog, JCC Jr, Geale, Barker, Quillin, Lee and now BJS had/are hiding from him.

He doesn't need his team to tell fightfans, promoters, and other fighters his absolute intentions. WBC, WBO, or BIG MONEY.

He doesn't care against who, but only cares about WHEN, which was 7 yrs ago, thru present day.

Open your ears Shock.....Heiland or Canelo? The WBC IS GGGs......BJS, Eubank Jr, Bursak, Khurtsizde.......doesnt matter who, the WBO will be HIS.

Then, at age 36, he will move N to 168 and begin his stalking of those who hold HIS title there. :deal:deal:deal
