Golovkin, and it's not even close. Guys like Macklin, Geale, Monroe, etc. wouldn't even be considered one of the 10 best middleweights, most years of the 90s.

Allen from the first two fights, Eastman, Echols, Johnson, Jackson, Joppy, Trinidad, etc. trumps Geale, Murray, Macklin, Monroe, Stevens etc. easily. Most GGG fans probably didn't even watch boxing back then. If so, and were familiar with Hopkins career, they would know that the quality of Hopkins contenders was significantly better than those bums around now that Golovkin has been facing, not big names, but real, blue collar contenders. Guys like Geale, Macklin and Murray have close fights with Sturm. A better version of Sturm was whooped by an old ass man back in the day. That shows you the comparative quality of what GGG has been fighting against.
