No, not proud he didn't fight Ward or when he KO's Canelo nor do I take pride in any fighter conducting his business. I take pride in what I do or what my Wife and daughter do.
I wish the Ward-Golovkin fight could have been made in 2014 or 2015 but it was not meant to be. Even though I would guess Andre Ward has a 70% chance to beat Golovkin, I still wanted to see them fight at say, 165 lbs.
On the other hand, I do enjoy watching fighters ply their trade and become great by dominating one weight class for a long period of time.
We can disagree about Canelo being a middleweight (he is!) but it would be nice for you to show some humility from time to time and not completely bash a very good, elite fighter in Golovkin every time a thread pops up on him. You are asking him to test himself against a sure fire hall of famer in Andre Ward and I doubt you would do so if you didn't think Golovkin was worthy of challenging SOG.
I also doubt GGG is afraid to lose, it's part of the business. Please don't lump me in with "you guys claim he is God". He is an elite fighter in my and many other people's opinion.
Of course his team weighs risk vs reward and as I have told you a few times before, they know Andre Ward is the biggest risk to Golovkin and he doesn't bring the reward that Canelo does, monetarily speaking. Beating Ward does however bring career glory as that is the most significant victory out there for him.
So why would Team GGG vigorously pursue a fight with an all time great super middle, now campaigning at light heavy when GGG comfortably makes 160 and has a guy in his division now that brings lots of money and notoriety? Pretty simple stuff.

No, he is a fat slob with no control over his rolls and love handles.

Rios will end up like JL Castillo: shot before his time because he stayed too long in a category his body outgrew.

Ray Robinson was 132-4-2 at 33 years old and, in his last fight, lost to the lineal light-heavyweight champ due to dehydration. You think Golovkin is better than him?

The thread is about how good Golovkin is skill wise, not how good his resume is.

Him not having fought some semi-retired LHW is irrelevant.

    LOL.

Bumlovkin hasn't even won the middleweight title yet. Pavlik, Taylor, and IIRC Martinez all were able to do that before turning 33.

They don't call Ray the best P4P that ever lived for nothing.

But even Ray was going regularly the distance. And he didn't have GGG's punch, nor chin !

So Golovkin, in your opinion, is a better fighter at 33 than Robinson?

When it comes to chin and punching power, GGG's superior.

As the complete fighter, Robinson is.

Best 33 year old ever?? Jesus lol

Robinson actually doesn't qualify at 33. He was retired and trying to be a tap dancer and singer, and came back and struggled and lost to Tiger Jones before finding his groove back.

Who has Golovkin fought on the level of Robinson's best opponents at age 33? Beating on Lemieux doesn't make Golovkin great. I thought some of the Pac fans were the worse but some of you Golovkin fans are making me reassess.

Knockout percentages in Robinson's era were mostly lower than today's champs and contenders. Refs were slower to stop fights, and fighters got carried the distance too. Ray was known to carry a lot of the fighters the distance, including a declined Henry Armstrong whom Ray apparently carried the distance because he idolized Henry.

Some fighters also held back with punches due to the fragility of their hands. They had more fights so they had less healing time for their hands.
