Lewis sometimes was cautious with finishing, but usually was a very good finisher. Ruddock, Briggs, Golota, Grant (even though he needed to use his usual "pull the neck down with the left glove and hit him with the right uppercut" move), Bruno.

I personally can't stand Lennox (I rooted for him one time in my life and he of course lost) and hope GGG goes on to do much better things, but I can't pick GGG over him as an overall fighter and obviously achievements at this age. Lewis was indeed a great fighter.

not only that...he needs to be in the box against a guy like that...and then try to hit his offspeed stuff after seeing trying to hit that fastball....this guys knees would buckle just lookin at a 12-6 curve

He was the best of the great HWS of the nineties.

But he could get caught and stopped with silly shots because he was sometimes inactive and his chin was average.

What GGG gives up in athleticism and speed, he makes up with boxing skills, boxing brain, chin and confidence.

In my opinion a better overall fighter, without any obvious weaknesses, even though he doesn't have nowhere the resume.

Then why was Major League baseball riddled in steroid abuse if it isn't a sport? With as many as 80% of palyers roided out of it?

Babe Ruth from the 1920's has the highest ever career home runs.

Unless you count Barry Bonds who was a drug abusing cheater.

No roids back in the 1930's

It means you're not the best fighter at 33.

It doesn't say anything about any other age; Tyson is certainly the best ever 18 year-old HW: he beats any other 18 year old HW in history, in my opinion.

Foreman was probably the best ever 45 year old HW, by the same token.

He doesn't understand the reflexes and reaction time needed to hit a major league fastball.

Sounds to me like he doesn't understand much of anything...

Bumlovkin's obvious weakness is that he hasn't fought anyone of note and he's already 33 years old [34 by the time of his next fight].

That reminds me of this Sports Illustrated article I read about Larry Bird in the late 80s, and how the meaning of "athleticism" seems to have changed.

People usually associate "athleticism" with being fast and jumping high, and people forget about aspects such as strength, stamina, hand-eye coordination.

You will not excel at boxing, baseball, basketball, etc...if you have horrible coordination.

Anyone who doesn't think baseball is a sport is just a moron.

I'd reference a prime Ken Griffey Jr or Barry Bonds in the mid 90's as being top tier athletes. ANyone who argues with that just doesn't know much about the sport and should probably educate themselves a bit more on it before commenting. Those are 5 tool superstars that did MUCH more than just hit the ball well.

Baseball is a sport, but they do not have great athletes. Miguel Cabrera is fat as hell. So is David Ortiz.

    ^^??

You just picked the two fattest guys in the MLB and use them as the standard? The MLB has plenty of gifted athletes.

I bet if Barcham tried to play major league baseball, he would fail miserably.
