Ouma was 2-4 in his last 6 and it took Bumlovkin 10 rounds to finally get rid of him. That doesn't sound like someone who has "an uncommon capacity of KO'ing people almost effortlessly".

Maybe you need to go back and watch the Ouma fight. Kassim was giving the Triple Duck some problems...

These Golovkin threads have to stop.

It was getting ridiculous month ago, now it's just pathetic.

ANyone who actually thinks he's the greatest 33 year old fighter in history has a rudimentary understanding of the sport. This is an old sport that's housed MANY great fighters over the years.

I'm not going to go into the list of fighters that I consider better than him at 33 years old, because there's just no point. But I can say emphatically that no, Gennady is not the greatest 33 year old fighter. he's also not the greatest MW fighter ever, and he's not one of the greatest P4P fighters ever like some crazy people make him out to be.

His best wins are against mid tier fighters. This love for someone as unproven as him is reaching a level of absurdity that I didn't think existed.

One thing that GGG should get credit for is the amount of popularity he has achieved in such a relatively short time. In particularly here in America. I never seen anything like it before in a foreign fighter.

    Agreed.

He's not even close to being the best 33 year old middleweight ever...Off the top of my head, Monzon, McCallum, and Hopkins were all superior overall fighters than GGG. And the first 2 was before this whole increase in the number of older athletes (especially boxing) excelling at older ages.

People have a tendency to dislike fighters when they have unreasonable fans who say outrageous things. Sometimes I wonder if some of the people saying these insane things about GGG really dislike him and want others to dislike him, so they pretend to be an ignorant fanboy. I mean GGG is pretty likeable as a fighter, he's fun to watch and seems like a decent guy.

    Well you're about half right.

The fact is he was back in the ring a month later, and his sparring partner retired him.

    I actually agree with you.
The title of my thread is

He might not be the greatest, but he's certainly among the very best in the 33 year old category .
That was all i was trying to imply.

You're forgetting to add how fighters constantly price themselves out against him. Latest one is Saunders who's just passed on 2 mill.

Canelo and Cotto have refused to face him for the past 2 years, even though he's mandatory; he even was paid millions in step aside money !! And there's talk of catchweight even though it's a mandatory, and GGG's 8 years older !!

Kind of an overkill for an unproven, untested fighter, wouldn't you agree ? :hey

Lastly, why are bookies absurdly making an untested, unproven old fighter a 2 to 7 fav against his 8 years younger foe ? :deal

Which is entirely irrelevant to the question asked in the title!? If you move the goal post, I suggest you do it more subtle.

 Damn, he can get old at anytime. He won't though because he will continue to face bum after bum after bum.

I swear, I'm gonna take a screwdriver to the 'G' key on my laptop so I won't be able to reply to yet another Gennady Golovkin posting on here. Yes, he's explosive. Yes, he's unbeaten. Yes, he's great to watch. But his record is as thin as a catwalk model's waist and until he boxes elite fighters I'm not going to rank him the best 'this' or the best 'that'. But before the 'G' goes, I'll use it one more time... by typing 'Geale': pretty much the best name on his resume.
