The problem with that, is that everyone knows that he gave it up. And you better believe that he'd want the other belts.

i agree I've said for a while that Canelos next fight if it's at 160 will be nobody of note and yet it will be a pay per view, maybe he fights Brook at a catch weight as that would be pay per view worthy but would carry some risk.
It's hard to know where Canelo gos to be honest,if he can't make 154 he has no belt,at 160 GGG has the belts save Saunders,he either fights at catchweight so for nothing but money or waits for GGG to move up,Saunders beat Eubank who is a big middleweight who doesn't tire,I don't see Saunders being afraid of Canelo at Middleweight and Saunders would not let Canelo rest on the ropes either, don't be surprised to see Cotto rolled out again you know?

A prize fighter with no prize or prizes is what?

I don't think so! Canelo can fight nobodies and pull in 10 mill! G hasn't come close to bringing in a 10 mill pay day. Not saying it's right but, Canelo doesn't need G for a big money fight, especially when Roach is saying Pac should fight CA. G has no options that bring the green like a CA fight does.

If He continues to fight Golovkins rejects at Middleweight Fan's will drop off Him very quickly...It's already happening He can Run but he can not hide...the ball is firmly in His court Golovkin has the belts and it's up to Canelo to come and take them.!!!

I agree with everything you've written.

Although Canelo has youth on his side, he isn't in a great position right now.

I appreciate it's a big 'if' but if GG can beat Jacobs and BJS in his next 2-3 fights, then like you've alluded to, where on earth would that leave Canelo at MW?

    True.

But who can he fight that will bring in the money that a GG fight will generate?

I think his JMW days are almost over.

Canelo won't be able to keep fighting nobodies, because he's under enormous pressure to fight GG, and that pressure and expectation is only going to increase.

Yes but even Oscar chose guys with a title and when he fought Khan he had his own title, good luck putting big fights on with nothing on the line,Roach is off his head and you know it,Mannys a warrior but he don't want another night of passing blood, too big and won't happen but will be often talked about.

You're right, CA cannot continue fighting nobodies, especially on PPV but, I was commenting on Canelo needing G more than G needs Canelo. Canelo can probably get away with fighting 3-4 more nobodies and be fine. That will by him 2-2-1/2 years. G will be 38 by that time! I hope that is not the case but, G has no other guy that can bring him the money or prestige that will make him a house hold name to the casual fans. And that's if he beats Canelo! Fans acting like it's a foregone conclusion that G beats Canelo! I don't think it is.

His last fight with Smith shows he still has some drawing power. I was just saying that, as far as making money, CA doesn't really need G for that. You can't say the same for G. CA will be G's biggest payday, it won't be for Canelo. In the future CA could have fights with Thurman, Spence and Brook. These guys are still young and can move up. Other than CA there is no body in or around G's weight that can bring in the money. Again, I was responding to someone saying CA needs G more than G needs CA. That's all!

Just seen a real pearl of wisdom from Ricky Hatton about GGG.

"GGG he said he's a monster isn't he?if you walked in and caught him in bed with the Mrs you'd end up tucking him in lol"

    Funny man

He never made $150 million, rumours say that he only made around 50-60 at the very end, that's why he needs the money right now.
