most people thought Lemieux would go down first time he ate a power shot. but he ended up eating shots all night and the only time he was hurt badly to the head was from an illegal blow.

If people thought Lemieux didn't have a good chin it means they never actually watched his fight with Rubio.

Firstly even ferocious punchers don't knock out every person they face. There are lots of factors to take into account.

Secondly Lemiuex's punch resistance was/is underrated. Contrary to what some of the 'experts' on these boards will tell you anyone can be knocked out. A knockout loss doesn't automatically mean you have a 'glass jaw'.

Thirdly, GGG did fight more cautiously in this fight because he didn't want to take any big shots from David. He respected DL's power and adjusted his style accordingly.this led to a less aggressive approach.

The funny thing is he can't win - he knocks them over quickly and he's an overhyped can crusher, he trades with an opponent then he has no defence, he opts to box a bit more then his power is apparently overrated because he's not knocking opponents out with his jab. It's a joke. The GGG deniers even more stupid than his rabid fans who think this win makes him the GOAT.

While I never gave Lemieux any chance in this fight, never thought he was glass-jawed either. He was only down once against Rubio and Rubio is no featherfisted.

The reason why Bumlovkin gets so much flack is because all he does is knock over TOMATO CANs. He needs to beat an "A" list guy. The Triple Duck would have got TONS of credit for beating Ward - but we'll never see that fight because Bumlovkin will never take a risk. K2 likes feeding him the HBO approved and sanctioned TOMATO CANs...

Watch the fight closely, especially the last round.
Lemieux was bobbing and weaving and most of GGG's punches were missing or just grazing him except for his jab.
DL was not hurt with the exception of a few body shots.
Unfortunately for DL, when you make your opponent miss, you must make him pay, which DL did not do enough.
And yes -- he has a good beard.

Gassing and being stopped by a guy with 50 other career knockouts doesn't make a man glass chinned. David can take a punch.

Golovkin also pinpointed that the body was more vulnerable for the power shots, so he focused on disruptive shots to the head to set that up, being mindful of loading up upstairs. Had the fight gone on to its natural conclusion, it's the body work that would've stopped him.

His jab alone was enough to snap Lemieux' head back. If there was an overrated power, it was Lemieux'. Peope were talking about it as if he hit as hard as Julian Jackson.

Golvkin was quite cautious at the start and Lemmy could take a lot.

I don't think most people thought Lemieux would go down after eating the first big shot. It was mainly a statement by chronical haters to have a bigger chance to discredit a potential GGG win if he doesn't blow David out of there in 2 rounds, nothing to take serious.
