Recent examples are Khan, Brook, and Crolla. All aged 32 and pretty damn shot. Khan has 110 amateur bouts. Even Ward (100 something amateur bouts) was feeling the effects of his career which lead to his retirements.

GGG has 350 amateur bouts. If all 3 rounders that's 1050 rounds, and you know he sparred for every one of those bouts. Not to mention when he got with Abel he became less defensive and took more hits than he needed to from lesser opposition.

Regardless of mileage, biology says your body slowly declines after age 30. This decline accelerates rapidly after your mid 30s.

GGG at 35/36 was in better nick than all those guys.

They aren't shot because of age , they're shout because of wear n wear and poor lifestyle/career choices which is the case for Brook.

Golovkin lives the life and is well preserved. He has low mileage on his clock and very little were n tear due to careful match making.

He's closer to being prime than he's closer to being shot. Just like Carl Froch was when he was the same age.
