GGG said he couldnt get big fights but when one came up (WARD) he ducked!

How could GGG duck Ward when Ward is basically retired

 

Quick question to Shockmaster , Dino etc....

Take everything and set it aside. Toss out your feelings on GGG not fighting Ward and your beliefs that he is ducking him,,,and fighting bums etc.

When you watch him fight , do you honestly think he has no skill and sucks? Be real with me here a minute. Say the fight with Ward was made at 168 do you really think that ward would just blow him away and there would be no competiveness?

Everyone says he get hit too much. One counter argument was that once he feels your power and realizes that you cant hurt him he opens up some and takes a few hits to land counters. His last fight against Lemiux ( sorry not sure on spelling ) who is a huge puncher he hardly got hit at all.

David is no offensive genius but he's no bum and his power is real. So GGG showed his defensive side, and a killer jab.

Do the ravings of some of GGG delusional fans really sway you guys that much to hate him? I am a fan admittedly and see a lot of potential.

POTENTIAL. It hasn't been fully realized yet, but it is there and waiting to bust out.

Me personally will never let ravings of lunatics color my feelings for someone athlete or otherwise.

GGG and Ward will prob never fight now......ggg fans are already using ward being a lhw now as a reason for ggg dismissing the fight in favor of lemieux.......they (his fans and k2) want ward at LHW to further drive wedge in between the talk of that fight and it becoming a reality ......they already try to dismiss ward as a name saying how he can sell and nobody know who he is anymore

If ggg is be@ting Tim Bradley and s knocking him out are you impressed?

Who else is going to come up to fight him?.....

This unifying nonsense is just a way of avoiding a fight they don't want.....it wasnot his top priority when he was pursuing froch and chavez fights.......ggg can move up now and no it won't meat much

I don't want to really get into hagler.....but I'll just say if ggg stays at mw and dominates then we'll never know how good he really is.....the mw division is **** imo.....and guys like canelo and cotto don't need ggg....guys like that aren't going to fight him.., they're already money makers and smaller.....there's maybe 1 or 2 guys at 154 Id want to see him fight


Who is going to come up to ggg that will enhance his legacy and resume? He gonna beat Tim Bradley or something?

 

I've made many posts in threads on the subject of ward/ggg......and in many of them, if you haven't read, I have said that I don't hate him and I think he is very good.....real good.....and I don't think ward waltzes to victory if they fought

Ggg is real good ......but I have no interest in seeing him fight cotto and I don't think cotto should be labeled for not fighting him........to me ward is the only realistic fight I can see where we'd find out just how good ggg is.......that's what I'm interested in.....not seeing ggg lose....but seeing how good he really is.......because he's quite impressive

 

Thanks for responding much appreciated. I had a feeling you were more level headed that I suspected. I work 2 jobs and free time is limited So I miss a lot of **** here. But it seems when I did catch a post of yours about GGG it was always bashing him. Nice to know we share the same thoughts for the most part.

I would absolutely love him to fight Ward and I too think that Ward is the best test out there to see what he really has.

I respect his dream whatever to unify 160 though. If he could just get the Lee / Saunders winner and Canelo ( love Cotto and think if he fights smart he can win but don't think he will fight GGG and make the whole process longer) Then moved up I would be happy.

But there is no telling how long he intends to hang at 160 once he unifies.

Would be sweet if he had some real competition at the weight huh.

Again thanks for being real with me. Refreshing on here when all you seem to see sometimes are GGG fans bashing Ward and Ward fans bashing GGG.

In my opinion they are both superb boxers deserving of respect. Major props to Ward for moving up. Fighting Kovalev is a *****y move win lose or draw and my hats off to him.

 

They're not games, its called negotiating. You go high, I go low and vice versa. So what your saying is Andre Ward doesn't receive offers but only gives them?

I just don't know if I buy unifying as being some major important goal.....I think it sounds good when it's convenient ....but if he could have had froch and pre fonfara chavez back to back he would have been all over it and that unifying dream would have gladly been on hold

Everyone already considers him the best mw anyway......so him unifying doesn't prove anything imo......the division is pretty weak in most people's opinions

His resume is severely lacking

I really don't care if he moves up if he's not gonna fight ward ......there aren't many fights up there , if any, I'd be interested in.......so he can stay at 160 for all I care

If he's fine with beating up c and b level fighters them that's on him

 

GGG resume is quantity over quality. Ward's resume is quality over quantity.

 

Fighting 4 times a year, against guys most don't consider to be too good, isn't that impressive to me personally

GiGi has never faced a top opponent, never had a big fight and ducked both Hopkins and Ward.
GiGi just wants the soft life of facing mediocre opposition, make a few dollars and then go back to Russia to become a goat farmer.

This sounds like what Andre Ward is going to do. Then he will become a Pastor or Deacon at his a Church in Oakland.

 

Andre Tune-up didn't want to fight GGG, the negotiations was just posturing on his part to make it look like he was trying to get the fight signed.

 

Well he was willing to step up (with no warm up) and fight froch, wards best win lol
