The referee tonight would have disqualified SOB, no doubt about it. SOB broke the rules by punching to the testicles, it has always been against the rules.......................Kovalev knows the powers-that-be in boxing are against him. SOB can't win a fight without cheating, he is nothing but fecal matter, even lower.................

Wake up call: bad calls happen in ALL sports. You can tell who only watches boxing around here.

But somehow the bad calls in boxing mostly help the hometown fighter or the A-Side fighter, while the bad calls in other sports are more random. I don't say that the best American football teams like the Patriots don't get help from the referees, but at least sometimes the refs are against them, when they botch call. It is very rare in boxing when the A-Side fighter gets screwed like that.

Wrong. It happens to the home team a lot.

But those home teams will also play on the road where they can get screwed by refs, so what goes around comes around. It is different in boxing. First of all an American boxer like Mayweather or Ward doesn't even have to fight in a foreign country. And when the boxer is the A-Side he can get favorable decisions even when fighting on the road, think Chavez Sr or Canelo. Also in team sports the botched calls are more random due to the referees being blind/inept, so they can help both teams. American football rules are much more difficult than boxing rules for example, therefore there is more room for mistake. When the referee or the judges make mistakes in boxing, it is much more likely that they do it on purpose to protect the fighter that brings more money to the table.

Look, a fighter can't be allowed to strategically target the belt line even if the idiot ref decided that they were "borderline" legal. It's an unfair advantage to be flirting with low blows on every punch. There should have been warnings to keep them up to prevent low blows from occurring and Ward using it as an unfair advantage. Ward got lots of openings by feinting below the belt line, it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

I've seen Kova do nothing but whine. But he lives in Florida and has for some years, so he's a USA resident. (So all this rubbish about not having Russian judges, he's fought there like once in 4-5 years, lol, and hasn't lived there in quite a while -- but given the deal he cut to fight for a PPV/gate percentage, he'll be in a bread line soon enough.)

Ask Ward why he didnt want neutral officials for both his fights with Kovalev.

In the moment, yes. But like every other sport, I don't always agree or disagree. I live in Dallas, lot of cowboys fans that ***** about "bad" calls, but me, as a neutral (Houston fan) don't get caught up. I see that it's just emotional fans and the call was legit.

Weeks wasn't perfect by any means, but nothing that screams incompetence or corruption. Especially considering he let maidana manhandle Floyd, that kind of eliminates the bias, national, or payoff factor. He's just a ref that doesn't call many dirty moves.

In my opinion, the only bad thing weeks did was the stoppage, I felt like he was fine throughout. I think Kovalev deserved a count or maybe even recovery time if weeks saw it was legitimately low.
