GGG should steer clear of Maravilla

As one of the best fighters in boxing, Golovkin wants to fight the best.

"I am ready to fight anybody, but, specifically, I want to fight [lineal champion] Sergio Martinez," Golovkin said.

That is highly unlikely. Martinez's promoter, Lou DiBella, has said he has no intention of making the fight. Besides, Martinez is coming off knee surgery and won't be back until the spring at the earliest. And when he does return, he likely will defend against Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto in what would be a major pay-per-view fight.

it seems like I saw that Stevens had a slightly longer reach, but according to the HBO graphic GGG had 2" longer arms ... so either one is wrong or Stevens just has a 5" wider chest

 

This is the worst piece of career advice I've ever heard. Sergio is ready to be taken and GGG would (and should) fight him at the first available opportunity.

 

Maravilla is finished, i'd favor even Geale to beat him at this point

 

imo, the sergio that fought jr. would be ko'ed in the middle rounds. ggg would start fighting in round 1 unlike jr. who started to punch 11 rounds too late.

 

GGG the hype job , he has beaten nobody.

Stevens had the speed advantage and at times looked good against 3G. what pissed me off about Stevens is, he would run off a 2-3 punch combo and just stand in front of 3G. At other times he would just let 3G walk right to him and not throw any punches for 5-10 seconds. If a guy has faster hand and better foot movement, us it. Stevens corner never told Stevens to step around and move after he throws combos or lands his shots. The key to fighting a power puncher is keep him turning. If he can't get his feet planted he loses his power. This was a frustrating fight to watch. I could literally see what Stevens needed to do but he just would not do it. All in all it was a very impressive win for 3G but, he needs to sty out of the ring with Ward. Ward is a much smarter fighter than Stevens. He will keep 3G turning, step around 3G after landing shots and hold and clinch. 3G gets beat badly by Ward.
