I've watched a few of GGG fights. Especially against his last few opponents. The first half of the first round he doesn't throw alot yet and with less conviction. It looks like he is sorting out what his opponents will bring to him. And after figuring them out, he starts to put a beating on them.
He really has underrated boxing skills and smarts!!!!!!

I agree. Its easy to say he is a brawler, but when you look closely he also mixes his power punches in the right place at the right time.

Ward already knows how to beat him. GGG's chin is there to be hit. All this hype is fine but you all are going to feel let down if he goes up against Ward. .Abraham would KO this little man as well. He is just to small to move up and fight Ward or Froch. He may do ok if he stays at 160 or lower.

I agree with you that Ward will beat him. He is not big at 160 either. Just saying he is a better boxer than he looks like.

I think better. He seems to be very accurate and power with every punch he throws.

GGGs a master of the ring, always seems absolutely relaxed and confident. He tends to start slow because he's working out just what his opponent's bringing.

I've pointed out before how he has very good defense, but weighs up how much his opponent can hurt him before settling into a balance which gives him the greatest offensive capability without putting him at undue risk. He basically said it himself post fight 'I let him hit me a few times to see what he had got' - I've seen him do this before, it's usually followed by a little nod of acknowledgement in the fight.

Once he's established his opponents speed and power, he starts giving them a taste of his own. Individual strikes at first, the odd power jab maybe. He watches how they react. Registers. Calculates.

Only when he's confident that he understands his foe, their skills, movement and power does he start to go to work. And that's exactly what it is. An artistry of destruction performed by a master craftsman with ruthless efficiency, and the odd flourish performed, I suspect, as much for his own pleasure as that of his audience.

GGGs power is, for me, not the most impressive of his gifts.

Ward's the one guy in the weight range that I think might handle Golovkin. And why? 'Cos he's also got that complete understanding of the battlefield and how to weigh an opponent - in Golovkins case it's more about overwhelming his opponent by forcing a fight on his terms- creating opportunities for his accurate power, with Ward it's about first understanding, then neutralising their best weapons.

Ward is undoubtedly the more proven, and with the added size I would tend to prefer Ward, but each is a master of his trade in a different fashion.

There is some talks about Froch - Golovkin, a fight which I think would be truly special. If GGG can get past Froch, maybe Ward should start looking over his shoulder (tho I really feel GGG should be concentrating on 160).

Yes. I absolutely agree with you. Ward has so many advantages in boxing smarts and also has size on his side. I think that GGG could defeat Froch, but I'm not sure about that either. the 168-fighters might be too big for him

Once again I love watching GGG especially against sacrificial lambs but why are we already so quick to act like this guy is worth all the hype he's getting. He has a great approach and positioning as a come forward fighter but this has all been against bums. Feed him Sergio then make him fight a real opponent then well see just how smart he is.

A man who has an amateur record of 350-5 is a boxer, not a brawler.

    Simple as that.

GGG should go and beat Froch (therefore winning in two different weight class) and make Ward go down to 160 to taste his own medicine.

We all need to see how GG reacts when he is hit back by a guy who won't back down or crumble from a bodyshot.

There are a few guys in the 160-168 range that could give him some problems.

Ward's athleticism, elusiveness and ability to counter punch would make it very difficult for GGG to commit to punches in the way he has been accustomed to doing.

Froch's durability and overall skill set would be a challenge for GGG. Also don't forget that this fight would probably be in front of Froch's fans and that would be another major factor.

Oosthuizen(yeah I said it) also has the physical tools and seasoning to give Golovkin some problems. Not only is he tall and rangy, but he fights tall and rangy. He pumps that jab while using lateral movement and sets up angles to land the left hand. He also takes a punch very well and is always in peak condition.
