It was in the TS initial post you ADD r.e.t.a.r.d! I love how all theses casuals invents some non issue that never was just to make themselves seem like they have some trained eye for detail that escapes the rest of us. Anyone who feels GGG was gassed and fortunate Monroe quit or he would have been in danger of getting stopped himself has serious problems.
The commentary teams have brought this up on his last couple of fights. He breathes heavy in between rounds (even after the first). He still generally throws a lot though. In the 11th against Murray and the 6th against Monroe he looked absolutely fine in the ring. I'd guess he was either taking a quick breather in the 5tth of the Monroe fight or (as I suspected against Murray) he was letting him throw more shots to create more openings for himself.
GG threw 300 punches in 5 and 1/3 rounds, landed nearly 50% of his power punches, I'd say his stamina was fine
At no point was I suggesting golovkin was in danger of losing the fight, let alone being stopped! Honestly! Quite the contrary. I simply said he was slowing down considerably after the 3rd round, even Lampley highlighted it. Had the fight gone deeper into the later rounds golovkins workrate may have kept decreasing and in danger of losing some rounds. For those so quick to dismiss, watch rounds 4 and 5 again and you can clearly see his workrate is very poor, and techinque was sloppy as he was just throwing haymakers. He usually sets these shots up with probing punches and uses his boxing skills and pressure, but I saw little of that after round 3. And yes I am a golovkin fan, but from what I saw there may be a few *****s in that armour that may be concerning (which may not necessarily be a bad thing if other top middleweights saw the same thing and be enticed to step into the ring)
I was amused by Roy Jones's comment about how he "cuts" Sorry, but this guy's ain't going away and Jones is lucky he's not in the same era.
