After GGG-Canelo 3, GGG is now a free agent. After HBO left boxing, DAZN, PBC, and Top Rank fought furiously for his signature. The guy just made 25 million in his last fight. How much will promoters offer him now? He is coming off a 5 fight 100 million deal from DAZN.
His best bet would be to sign with PBC.Theres alot of high profile matches and alot of money to be made if he signs with them not to mention hed be fighting for a tv network again. SHOWTIME!
After seeing him showing up to lose to Canelo on purpose, I don't think he has any ambition left in him. The man has solved the true meaning of life: Work less and get easy money. He'll probably do exhibition matches in Far East market and collect as much easy money as he can.
I can't see Al Haymon, at this point, letting GGG anywhere near a Charlo. Why pay a guy a fortune to punch another hole in your balloon? The only way I see it happening is after a Charlo-Canelo fight takes place and that is at least a year away. Meanwhile Top Rank isn't going to pay him $20 million to fight Alimkhanuly. I suspect he is going to see that at the age of 40 he is still frozen out and will do a farewell fight somewhere and retire.
He is not a hot free agent. Without a dance partner he doesn’t draw and will soon be 41, he is a huge risk with low reward. He still holds belts at 160 but could easily lose it all in next fight. His days are numbered.
What a poor showing against Canelo, after not fighting anyone of note in that much time after their second bout, Only to go out & lose like that, kind of feels like that One fight alone ruined his credit.
I don’t see that much money coming Golovkin’s directions from here. TR will offer him some 2-3mil probably, to fight Alimkhanuly. PBC will offer him around 1-2mil with upside from PPV vs Lara. And if he wins he may see a little more vs Charlo. But I don’t see the reason for a big investment in Golovkin at this stage. If Golovkin doesn’t like PBC’s offer he will be stripped of the WBA and they will make Lara vs Charlo on PPV. Unless I’m missing something.
I do think that he made a mistake fighting journeyman after leaving hbo. it also hurt as he could have added to his legacy. However that is kind of the result of DAZN that paid him 10 to 15 million a fight with little oversight into who he selects as his opponent. DAZN is the dumbest Network in the history of the world.
All these Companies make the same mistake whether in Boxing or other Entertainment Avenues, then a few years after their money is done being milked they dissipate without much acknowledgment or headlines, Didn't JayZ's company also lose allot of money in the process on faded or at least Star's that were headed towards their twilight, i think Triller are on their way out too, they have no long term vision period, Hoping to use household names as way to boast them up while the fighter's they have signed are laughing inside knowing they will happily enjoy taking all they have to offer.
