I agree he would have made it interesting but I'm not so sure he would have gotten past the beltholders. His outings after the Jacobs fight were rather disappointing for me. Blame it on injuries, inactivity or whatever, point is he didn't follow up his hype like Golovkin for example whom I think would have beaten Pirog to submission quite easily.

BTW, I posted while watching your video and saw in the end that you included the Pirog shift-knockout, Vysotsky. Beautiful breakdown mate, hope to see more of your work in the future.

Always good to see videos made by people who actually know what they are looking at.

great video and analysis!!! thanks for sharing!!!

ward and floyd both shift from time to time. floyd does it to take away counters and smother. ward does it to set up the next shot or smother. rigondeaux is another guy that does it.

it can work in the right situations but the drawback is that if u don't do it properly you can be caught squared up. i don't show that move to guys with slow feet. the other problem was displayed by proska...if u get stuck in the opposite position and your defensive ability on that side isn't up to par, u can pay the price. the art isn't as forgotten as everyone thinks.

You're right about Rj, but he could get away with most of those things cuz of his insane reflexes, like you said, a freak of nature. Yes the jab is perhaps the most important punch in boxing, but it's not always effective especially once your opponent has been able to counter it, and GGG, if you haven't figured him out by now, is NOT a one dimensional brawler that is a rockem sockem robot. He's constantly starting exchanges AND finishing AND when he gets the chance hes countering too. Used a nice jab vs Stevens and in his last fight Adama only landed 12% of his shots, 12%! Dafuq is that!

Great video with tons of comic relief thrown in from tennis. For instance: I had no idea the best jaber in boxing was actually ****py at jabing and he was losing after five rounds in his fight with Adama. LOL!

Anyone who says GGG was losing after 5 rounds with Adama must have learned scoring at the CJ Ross School of Professional Boxing Judges.
