I love the oldtimers because of their deep pool of competition and vast experiences beating top fighters...Having said that I have NEVER seen a more hurting puncher in the middleweight division that I can recall. He obliterated a 181 pound Rubio last night with a concussive blow on the temple that a tough Rubio couldn't or wouldn't beat the count. Which MW
today has a prayer against this middleweight goliath today ? Thoughts ?

He should stay at 160 and clean up the division, good fights with Cotto, Chavez and Kid Chocolate then possibly catch weight fights with Ward at 164 and Floyd at 154, GGG thinks he can make the weight but let him dominate the division like Monzon and Hagler 1st and the $ will follow. I like the guy, polite, well spoken and conditioned, he reminds me of a Russian Joe Louis- Duran - but very contained and creative one he finds an opening he strikes like a Russian Rattler

I've been following boxing and particularly the middleweights since the mid-50's. The only fighter I can remember that punched as hard as Golovkin was Eduardo Lausse. He was an Argentinian middle who fought from about 1952-1961. He was a heck of a fighter but Golovkin would have handled him. Golovkin is confident, well conditioned, likeable, very talented and can box and punch. He is durable as well. The guy had over 350 amateur fights, was never decked and won all but 5. Golovkin is the genuine goods. You can always argue that he hasn't had the depth of talented fighters that some previous middleweight eras had but that is not his doing. If you consider Robinson and Monzon and Hagler greats, you are correct. However, Golovkin would be a very worthy opponent for those three.

The MWs have already been hiding away and cowering in fear behind the foliage of the woods for eons now. lol

chicken Felix Sturm already run for the woods back in 2010. He might already have established a refugee camp there for the others.

Same here. GGG not only has the best power at 160, but he's also got a very good chin, decent skills and enough defense to give anyone in history big time trouble.

Head to head, I think he's a top 8 all time middle weight even though he hasn't faced another hall of fame level opponent. I hope he fights Cotto next.

  10. His punching technique is superb

That circular motion he does when throwing the hook, and how he drops his weight at the moment the punch lands, this is like boxing porn. This guy has to be one of the hardest punchers of all time, definitely P4P hardest puncher right now.
