He is the best I have ever seen...I like the fact that he doesn't employ that sissy peek a boo style of boxing...he comes to fight and trade...and he is good boy!!!!

    :think

I think hes the real deal at 160.

But as real at 160 that I think he is, I don't think he has much success above the weight. Not every fighter can carry success up through the weights, especially the higher ones... to me, imo, with his strengths, attributes and style, he is one of those type of fighters that are exceptional at their natural weight, but not necessarily able to compete against top tier bigger opponents. And that's not a knock on him. You can be a great fighter without moving up weight classes. Todays fans are weightjumping drunk.

That all being said, hes also getting old, his comp is not really forcing him to improve, and he has looooots of miles on him throughout his life within the ring. So he will probably start to fade sooner rather than later.

    Hes an interesting case, imo.

I can see G getting into trouble with someone super skilled and talented, or someone who he cant hurt and is physically stronger than him.

Just remember, the terminator style always looks good against certain level of fighters.... and its a style that is sometimes hard to gauge weaknesses due to the illusion it creates of the fighters doing the destruction. So the jury is out on Golovkin.... and I wouldn't be totally shocked to see him fall short of being great, but if had to decide if I think hes the 'real deal' or not, Id say yes... at 160.

A fighter becomes a real deal after beating a good tough fighter ( a real fighter, not some hypejob with a bs ranking by some alphabet org with an agenda) GGG hasnt done that yet.

Compare Martinez's performance Vs. Macklin with Golovkin's performance Vs. Golovkin................

That's an excellent analysis Kirk, but that last part is predicated on GGG
using the manhandle and overpower game plan on a bigger foe, when it's
quite possible he changes tactics in that particular fight with that particular
style. You're selling GGG's ring IQ short. He's faced and seen EVERY style
there is, because you can't with 400 AM fights. With that being said, he
could be the Hagler of this generation and just dominate as the champ
at 160 for the next 4 years. 1st, he needs the chickensh.it "champ" now
to man up and fight him and step the fu.ck aside.
