Canelo is boxing's cash cow, he is only 25 yaers old, and not in his mid thirties, and has a bigger fan base than any active fighter save Pacquiao.

People of his status get hated on all the time. If you were following boxing in the 90's an early part of 2000s you would have seen DLH getting hated on with no end.

It's great that Canelo has a mentor like Oscar that has been at the top of the game, is an ATG, and business saavy, to help him keep focus throughout his career.

Canelo is fine and IS and will continue be successful, more so than any active fighter save Pacquiao.

Who does Canelo have left south of 160 that's a big fight? Nobody. You can say all you want that 154 is better than 160 in terms of talent but in terms of marketability it just isn't so. Canelo vs Smith is going to crash and burn and show that Canelo isn't a big a draw as you guys think.

Yeah well at Eubanks press conference Hearn said that Canelo would love to fight at middleweight and is killing himself to make 154,so you could be right,that said he's allowed it to happen,Oscar may get stick for wearing fishnets but nobody would ever call him a coward as he fought the best.

 

There are a few good fights for Canelo at 154, maybe not huge money but still very good money but they are potentially difficult fights.

If it's true that Canelo is struggling to make 154 and many have said he is then Lara, Charlo and Andrade could be really difficult fights.

That's the reason I believe GBP went all out for Liam Smith, they don't fancy any of those fights with a weight drained Canelo.
