not really an issue, 3Gs style is built around getting close and applying the coup de grace.

LOL so having your opponent on the backfoot at least 80 percent of the fight, suffering no cuts, no true bruising, not getting rocked once, not getting dropped, practically no clean body shots constitutes punishment ehh??

That's what I've been saying. Even made a thread about it.

I understand that his fight with Canelo was close, and many scored it for GGG, but he in fact did take a lot of punishment.

It was similar to how Maragrito vs Cotto I, where Maragrito walked right through everything Cotto threw, but ultimately lost his prime in that fight despite him winning by KO.

The amount and kind of punches Cotto landed on Margarito were brutal, and career changing for the recipient. IMO, it is very similar to GGG-Canelo. While GGG outworked Canelo for many of the rounds, he was the beneficiary of Canelo's biggest punches. A credit to GGG for showing an amazing chin, but iron chin or not, you can't take punches like that and be the same fighter afterwards as was the case with Margarito, and many other fighters who won the fight but lost their prime, or at least left something in the ring.

Not sure what fights Garcia was watching, but to say Golovkin took punishment in the Jacobs fight is laughable.

You know how it is on the internet man. Golovkin is infallible. Whether its career choices or the actual fight itself he can do no wrong. He was supposed to destroy Canelos career but then it became "OMG he won easily and all he had to use was the jab".

I bet this place was a shitstorm for weeks after the fight eh?

Unfortunately i agree. That's why Tedy Atlas was so upset about the corrupt outcome and the "no problem there will be a rematch" opinions, because on the rematch you won't fight with everything you had in the previous fight.

It doesen't matter if his chin is titanium, the brain takes the punishment sadly. :(

In his last 3 fights his competition has been better so he took a bit more than his previous.
But in no way even in those fights he dished out less than he took.
His style of fighting, his opponents age, combine with his own age are factors to consider however.

Ok well... Canelo and his fishnet Freak should get right on that rematch and take out the shell of a boxer that is Gennady then right?! No constant running either this time I’m sure! Lol! And don’t wait a couple more years until Golovkin is pushing 40.

    Lol

I do, and I realize that, I'm simply responding to an absurd claim that there were no bruising, as if Canelo didn't land anything meaningful, which we ALL know he landed monstrous punches to the face and body. GGG has never taken so many hard shots from an elite fighter the way Canelo was able to land.
