Lol totally agree and as Paulie M said Canelo was on the ropes cause he was put there time n again.
If you look at Gennady after the Jacobs fight there’s hardly a mark on him which is why many believed Canelo would mark him up which he did and he just ate some of Canelos best ever punches imo, there’s a slow mo vid of Canelos face and reaction after he hit Golovkin with a monster punch, might be just in the moment but he did look shocked if not a little scared after it.

Oh for sure the difference between Canelo and Jacobs was noticeable and guys like Montero predicted this as did i and whilst Golovkin probably should of won that fight imo was close as Canelo landed the stand out shots against GGGs relentless pressure.
To suggest GGG didn’t take any punishment against Canelo is like saying Wilder should be PFP no 1 lol.

You're insinuating that I've said something along those lines when I never have lol... Your point regarding connected punches backfired as Golovkin had a higher % than Garcia did against the last two live opponents that he faced lol.....

Punchstats in not perfect, nor does it give a perfect percentage of actual punches landed.

29, 30, 31% can and is pretty much the same ball park. Very little to no difference.

Some of you punchstats warriors need to learn the sport.

    You're a child aren't you.

GGG's entire argument for beating Canelo is based on punch stats. He threw and landed more punches, what else can they claim for him?

If the argument that GGG outlanded Alvarez is going to be used, you also cannot ignore the quality of punches each fighter landed.

If we're going to be real, GGG landed two very good punches the entire fight, two punches that clearly caught Canelo's attention, not that Canelo backed down or was seriously hurt, but he felt GGGs power twice.

Canelo on the other hand, blitzed Golovkin in just about every round. GGG was compelled to mostly jabbing. Golovkin to very little risks against Alvarez all 12 rounds. Canelo seemed to get winded after round 3 or 4, all through the 9th, but it was all Saul Alvarez rounds 10-12, Golovkin at that point was following Canelo and getting hit with some monstrous punches.

In amateur boxing the fighter with most scored punches landed wins, in Prize fighting, it is completely different.

I made a little meme about a month prior to the Garcia-Matthysse fight. It was Lucas with his eye all messed up after the fight with Viv Harris, with a floral border and the caption, "They lied to me about Danny Garcia." Couldn't have turned out any more prescient. I'm now wondering if I can dig that up. I didn't even have an overly high opinion of Garcia, but boy, was Lucas ever aggrandized. That said, I did have a chance to witness his punching power close up, and it was that 'woah' for-real stuff (dined a few tables over from him at the Cafe Roma after the Peterson fight, too).

The prospect of Canelo facing a 40 year old GGG makes Oscar wet. Don't give him ideas.

Loeffler better double check the date fot the rematch.

    "5th May ... 2023? What the hell?"

I'm not sure he took more punishment than you'd expect from someone in a competitive fight. GGG-Canelo wasn't a real war of attrition where either guy was staggered or taking an obscene amount of shots. He took some good licks from Jacob too but again, I wouldn't exactly call it punishment.

4 more power punch? Clown central gave you training I am guessing. 53 more jabs but Jabs don't count in a boxing match do they? Pull your head out of your Butt.

I'm more or less with you. Golovkin's last three opponents connected with a few more solid, clean ones than he and his trainer should be satisfied with, but Jacobs is the only one of those who could be considered to resemble a true MW puncher. I doubt Golovkin's resistance to headshots is going to be compromised going into his next bout. If there's any area in which Canelo might find fight-ending success, I'd think it would be shots to the body, not the chin.

Then again, having now settled in at MW, Canelo could be working on enhancing the dynamic force behind his punch delivery (a la JMM). It wouldn't be the shock of all-time if he hurt Golovkin with something upstairs, but I wouldn't expect it. And I'm skeptical as to whether he'd be able to sufficiently sustain a follow-up assault to force the end.

I expect another distance affair from the rematch.

Yep, same. We saw GGG is capable of fighting for 12 full rounds so I was surprised not to see more body work from Canelo actually, after all everyone is weak to the body. But then I think clean head shots are more likely to steal you a round, certainly A Byrd agrees. What staggered me more was the fact that GGG did even less body work than Canelo did, possibly out of fear of being countered, but when you're in with someone who struggles to fight the full 3 minutes of every round then it's worth the risk. Particularly if they have a good set of whiskers as Canelo does.
