You know what many guys do when they found no challenges in their division? They moved divisions to seek them out, and not just let their fans do their talking for them.

Thread was created well before Ward had an extra hard on for a guy 2 weight classes below because he is scared of the top 10 in his own division.

Sad state of affairs when you have to end up in court over ducking your mandatory. GGG cant catch a break at MW due to a scared weight class.

    The saga at MW continues.

Golovkin is a hype, and here's why.

Former Undisputed MW Champion, Kelly Pavlik had an opportunity to fight an old Bernard Hopkins.
Pavlik didn't flinch, took the fight and got an ass whupping.
    But, HE TOOK THE FIGHT!

Sergie Kovalev had a golden opportunity to fight Bernard Hopkins.
At the time, Kovalev's resume was pretty weak with maybe Pascal listed as his best opponent.
A tad better than Golovkin's, but weak nevertheless.
Kovalev TOOK THE FIGHT, won a UD, and now has a resume distanced from Golovkin's due to the inclusion of an ATG, Bernard Hopkins.

The really embarrassing part of the Hopkins-Golovkin offer was that it was a good offer and the only excuse K2 could come up with is that Golovkin wasn't ready to face 50 year old Hopkins, and they would revisit the possibility of a Golovkin-Hopkins fight 2-3 year down the road.
What kind of excuse is that for a boxer who is supposedly seeking to unify the MW division? Here he has the opportunity to defeat the former Undisputed MW champion, and he refuses.

What is the number 1 true complaint against Golovkin? His weak opposition.
The Hopkins fight was an easy path to starting to build Golovkin's weak resume into a resume worthy of a future ATG.
    But, they DUCKED!
Sounds to me like someone was very aware of the risk of EXPOSURE. An art that Bernard Hopkins lists as his tried-and-true forte.

It's one thing to duck Lara and Ward, but ducking Hopkins is shameful!

Very true when the likes of Sturm was at the top ducking GGG it tells you something about the division back then.
Why it's taken so long for the various organisations to order mandatories like Canelo and Jacobs is beyond me,yes Golovkins resume is weak there's no denying that it's a pity they weren't ordered to fight as well, hell maybe they should just add all those 160 duckers onto GGGs resume anyway lol?

yep you have a point,I'm a fan of GGG but I can see that there's double standards going on,Chavez was spot on recently with his comments about Canelo ducking GGG and GGG not willing to step up and fight at 168,fair comment about both guys I reckon?

Yeah, as expected from someone who expects a free welfare handout. Just add Lara, Ward and Hopkins on there too. Right under, Brook. LOL!

Honestly, Golovkin should have accepted GBP's CW terms, made the fight, won, and now be where Canelo is today.
They rejected the Rocky path and instead took the long slow scenic route to reduce their risk.

Canelo said he wasn't a 160 MW, but he'd fight at a CW.
Golovkin should have called his bluff right then, accepted the CW and made history. They're still driving from CAli to San Antonio, by way of London.
