Just watched an interview were andre ward said he isn't that impressed by ggg and if he was Knocking world champs over then he might take note. He said he wouldn't shy away from a fight with ggg but he feels fans want to see a fight with Chavez jr more than they do a Martinez or ggg. Do you think ward beats ggg? The interview was on the ring digital on youtube. I'm not posting a link you get banned for that :good

I'd heavily favour Ward to beat him. It's an interesting fight though, as Golovkin has the skills that he will land some shots on Ward, and his power is frightening, though whether it would be against a much naturally bigger man than himself in Ward, is debatable

I reserve judgement on GGG's power until I see him knock out someone elite in his own division.

I like Golvkin, I rate him as a fighter. Whether he's being ducked or not i need to see him in with a world class 160lbs fighter sooner rather then later otherwise all the sensational KO's like last night will just be put more and more into context.

154lb fighters fighting a 160lb power puncher who's in his prime. He's doing what he should be doing i give him that. But even placid Al Bernstein called the Ishida fight ''stupid''.

Ward's a different animal, Ward wins. Rosado to his credit a bloody mess showed me enough to believe Ward could expose the lack of defence in Golovkin's game.

I think GGG is scheduled for another HBO date so hopefully he'll get a solid opponent. Chavez jr and Martinez would love a PPV rematch so I doubt they'll be fighting him.
It's a pity Geale didn't fight him and went with Mundine instead. Maybe he'll take him on this time but I have my doubts Gary Shaw will be keen on it.

Why is Ward banging on about guys in weight divisions below him?! He was calling out Mayweather the other week. He woudln't fight Dawson until he was drained to a zombie in Oakland and then was due to fight Pavlik in Oakland again. Unless somebody agrees to fight in Ward's backyard he won't be fighting anyone of note anytime soon. Think Ward is still getting over the travel to Atlantic City for the Froch fight

    This
If Golovkin stops Chavez Jr then hes legit and has definitely earned a Martinez fight

Ward would be a terrible fight for Golovkin. I'm unsure why its even being discussed.

Golovkin is a pretty smallish middleweight, certainly nothing above the "norm" for that weight class. I can't see him ever filling out to 168, the fact is 160>168 is one of the biggest, most difficult jumps in boxing.

The fact is, Gennady has not been given the opportunity to get any real kudos for beating a few big names in his own weight class, so it would be extremely unfortunate if he had to fight somebody quite a bit bigger than him that is all wrong for him just because neither have any great fights on the horizon.

Ward is far far far too big, as highly as I rate GGG this fight is too much for him. I can see him cleaning out at Middleweight and I'm confident he will. 168 however is too big for him. He'd be at too much of a size disadvantage to be truly effective there.

When a fighter conquers his division they typically move up to the next weight class to test themselves.
And on the other hand, there is Andre Ward...
