People feel GGG is shot and that Canelo is far better based on what they`ve done since their close rematch for a 160 title, but I feel Canelo`s opposition hasn`t been that great since GGG, could GGG have done as swell as Canelo did v those four fighters since his bouts with Canelo despite his age?

He knocked out a prime Kovalev in the gym with big gloves on. That version of Kovalev would've been arrested for homicide against Clenelo. The drunkard cracked chin way past prime absolute shell of Kovalev was only a couple of rounds away from beating Clen for goodness sake.

A way past prime GGG who Clenelo shamelessly ducked a prime version already beat Clenelo x 2 in most people's eyes and the absolute best case scenario you can make for the later is 1-1, the second fight being a razor-close decision over an even older more declined GGG who he had to even the playing field against by jacking himself silly with PEDs. The fact that him popping dirty x 2 coincided with his body undergoing the transformation from Canelo to Clenelo aka Hulknelo tells you everything you need to know .

Way past prime GGG already beat Jacobs in his backyard and he'd obviously KO Smith.

And even more obviously Rocky From Stocky gets sparked out early

I'd favour ggg over kovalev, Smith but.. I don't think he could've dealt with rocky fielding.....

Do you think GGG would've went all the way up to light heavy weight? This guy can't even go to 168 to save his life

Not a doubt in my mind he couldve gone upto lightheavy and beat kovalev, he also could've gone upto supermiddle and the only fighter I'd have favoured over him there was ward.. But he didn't.. He stayed at the weight he feels most comfortable.... And why not... People jump up weights and fight pissweak belt holders just so they can call themselves 3 or 4 weight champions.

Or the flipped side.. People go up a few weight classes higher than they should... Fight guys naturally bigger than themselves eventually lose and get called ****, or exposed... Boxing fans are very fickle.

It would have been great for his legacy if he did it while Kov was unified champion but he didn’t wanna take those challenges.. He called everyone out from 154-175 but really meant 54-60. Then played it safe for years while waiting for Canelo only to get the fight and get screwed the first fight and fought to passive in the second fight. Meanwhile Canelo has climbed up the 68 and 75 division and left him behind..

I don’t like the hypotheticals because if he felt he could beat the 68-75 fighters he would have at least attempted a one off. He had trouble with Danny Jacobs size and the 68 fighters during that period were bigger than Danny.

It’s like the 154 rights now. During the last era every good WW moved up for a title fight which wasn’t a problem because the champions wasn’t big. Today almost the whole top 154 is at least 6’0 and rehydrates to at least 168 fight night and that’s the main reason the top WWs have been hovering around the division for years now and hasn’t moved up.

GGG just meant 160. His resume is littered with 154 lbs fighters who had to move up or moved up prior to fighting GGG.

Similar but not the same. Canelo clearly beat GGG in the rematch.

Nah... Closer than first fight.. But I didn't have him winning... N I'm not biased towards ggg.... I loved canelo when he was coming up until he got popped for clen n started picking fights at exactky the right moment

For what it's worth I think I had Jacobs beating ggg by a point

Golovkin is the biggest business man in boxing in modern history.

The man literally does not take risks, and the only way he'll take one is if he's forced (and even then he rather forfeit) or the price is right.

This is a man who cares very little about legacy or his fans.

That's fine. I can totally respect anyone's opinion that GGG beat Canelo in the rematch, so as as long as they respect mine and Mike Tyson's, Ray Leonard's, Geroge Foreman's, Julio Cesar Chavez', Roberto Duran's, Abel Sanchez's, Erik Morales, and many other fighters, trainers, and ATGs who scored it for Canelo.

Clenelo needed to jack himself silly with PEDs to try and even the playing field against a way past prime old GGG at 160 for goodness sake and it took seeing the decline in GGG he'd been patiently biding his time waiting for as he hid out in the coop looking human against Brook and Jacobs to imbue him with the courage to finally step up to the plate.

And after his judges robbed GGG blind in their first encounter he, as said, as if knowing that he had the safety net of having the judges in his pocket in place wasn't enough, had to try and stack the deck even further in his favour by jacking himself full of PEDs which has been, duh, obviously integral in helping him move up through the divisions.
