realistically this would be too hard a fight for Carl at this stage in his career.I would rather see him fight Degale rather than Chavez.I would like to see Ward fight GGG who looks like a machine to me.But leave Carl alone he has at this time earned the right to fight who he likes .To call him a ducker/coward shows someone who is not a real boxing fan who doesn't appreciate what an outstanding career Froch has, often painfully, made for himself.
Seriously hope Froch doesn't fight Chavez Jr, who has got to be one the biggest jokes in the sport. Fight vs GGG is mouthwatering and I think the majority of fans would truly consider Froch an ATG if he beats Golovkin.
You can just see it now though can't you... "Froch beat a hype job" "Who has GGG beat?" "GGG was a blown up MW"
Carl gets stopped if he fights Gennady. Carl has ZERO defence. That doesn't bode well for Carl. Neither does the fact that he hasn't got the biggest ring IQ either. He will get 'macho' with Golovkin (which is literally the worst thing you could do), and he'd get stopped. The fight wouldn't go 5 rounds. I'd say it'd be over in 2-3.
So you're saying Froch, a natural SMW and the biggest, toughest, most experienced/proven fighter GGG would have ever faced would get stopped 8 rounds sooner than Murray and in less than time than Adama, Stevens and Rosado? Not quite sure how you work that one out. For a guy that's got ZERO defence, he hasn't done too badly in beating Kessler (a man who's chinned LHW's), Abraham (a former MW who was knocking everyone out, who's power doesn't hold the same weight at SMW.. a question that would be asked of GGG), Lucien Bute (who was considered a 'monster' before he got rag dolled by Froch) etc.
Don't think I've ever backed up Froch so much before.. I'm the bloke who nearly fell 5 rows down the MEN jumping about when Groves planted one on him !
Styles make fights, mate. Let's flip that - If GEORGE GROVES can smash Froch from pillar to post, do you not think that GGG can KO him with the same shots? But he also lost to Kessler. He stuck to a game plan against AA that worked very well. That fight could be been a great tear-up, but Froch was on his bike. Who did Bute beat again to consider him a monster? Oh, and Carl HAS got ZERO defence. He's not exactly Willie Pep, is he? Take away his chin and he'd have been retired years back.
The Froch of 2 years ago would beat GGG, no question. But he's done now. Carl is looking for a last cash-out fight on his own terms, and not many people begrudge him that (some do, like Mr Jeffries, but they're not being properly honest - "ducked Hopkins", my chubby buttocks). This fight's come too late for Carl. Give him his retirement party and move on.
Carl would know what hes facing here. He would be rediculously prepared and motivated his ego wont let him become just another Golovkin victim. He is as fit as they come, his chin is as good as the come, his will and determination is as good as it gets. He has the reach and experience on his side, and hits a lot harder than Murray. Most of you guys always write him off. His image is based on being a hard granite chin tough ******* and i think he would beat Golovkin up and stop him late
I agree styles make fights and if anything, Froch has the make-up and ingredients to beat Golovkin. I'm not saying Bute was a monster, more so that he was built up to be this monster.. he was being banded around as the man of the division who would beat Ward etc, Froch was the underdog going into that fight and plastered him. Froch has zero defence, GGG is hardly Willie Pep either is he? Like I've said, I think GGG is one hell of a fighter.. but gun to my head, I'd go with Froch. He's the much more proven fighter, who can take a shot, comes on stronger as the fight goes on, the naturally bigger man, can punch, has shown numerous times he can stick to a game plan as well as mix it up when he has too...
I would pick GGG to beat Froch as he is the technically superior boxer imo. I think Froch realises how good GGG is and wants no part of him at this stage in his career.
