Shame for Martin that the round robin featuring him, Macklin, Barker and Lee never got going, he'd have beaten all of them except Lee that'd be 50-50.

Whatever's said about Martin, one thing that can never be denied is that he's one brave, hard man.

For a supposedly knowledgeable member of these boards you really do talk some pish.

Macklin never beat anybody of note, and lost every time he fought anybody remotely World Class, yet you rate him above Lee and Murray ?

Macklin did enough to earn a draw and maybe nudge a win against an underperfoming Sturm, and thats it ! yet you've been bigging up Sturm to create a smokescreen ever since, pathetic atsch

Lee was losing every round until a reckless Korobov walked onto a peach of a punch.

Murray gets a draw against Sturm in Germany which tells you everything you need to know about what the real result should have been, he then gets a raw deal against Martinez in front of 50.000 screaming Argentinians in Buenos Aires in a fight lots of people thought he won, but he's rated below Macklin and Lee in your rankings ? :rofl

Now your saying because Lee and Macklin are more well known their better ?

It's the GREEN effect and nothing more, stick a shamrock on a fighters trunks, and your halfway there.

 

To be fair it shouldn't make any difference where a fighter comes from, but clever promotion will use any avenue to create revenue.

Murray would best Lee and Macklin, but his lack of decent PR and his questionable past have created obstacles to his development.

 

I think even the most ardent Murray fans realise he has two chances of beating Golovkin; slim and none - the same as every other MW in the World at present. Just because you thought Macklin would present Golovkin with any sort of challenge, doesn't mean Murray fans are the same just because they are Murray fans. Sometimes you've got to be realistic about your guys chances; why you think Sturm ducked the one they call Triple G like the plague?

 

I'm a Murray fan and only expect Martin to trouble GGG if the fight is switched to a St Helens chippy.

 

Golovkin will knock Murray out!!!

 

i hope murray does well, i still think GGG's great footwork, clinical timing and immense power is going to win him the fight, but i respect murray for getting in there.

 

Murray is one hellava fighter and will give GGG the most competitive fight of his career and probably loses a close decision. However Murray does have enough to KO him...

 

1 question ... To anyone....

Of all the MW's out there holding titles, Murray went looking for golovkin, why is that? I'd say it earns less than a fight with Lee, a lot less in fact (it speaks volumes the fight is overseas to both fighters) meaning.... He's obviously been working on something. That in itself gives me a bit of confidence.

Second, no one who knows there boxing can question Murrays work ethic & strong mentality, again a major advantage when going in with a man who wins fights without actually throwing a punch "tyson esque" is GGG at the min...

But I'd guess that GGGs camp is paying more attention to Murrays apparent lack of fear... Another slight advantage!

No, Oliver Harrison knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he went hunting for GGG, they've an un nerving confidence from somewhere.. Don't write him off

( and for what it's worth I rate martin as best uk mw but I'm hardly a hardcore Murray fan, just a fight fan in general)
