Yeah he's pretty much the best available opponent and a beltholder by default, not because he's beaten particularly noteworthy competition. The Lemieux being young excuse for the Alcine fight doesn't really account for the fact that his supposedly gamechanging power did little to phase an opponent known for a shaky chin. It's perfectly acceptable for him to be the opponent but let's not pretend this fight is any more likely to be competitive than previous Golovkin bouts. It's almost as poor a PPV main event as Floyd's upcoming fight.
agreed purephase..... its actually kinda sad though listening to ggg fans talk about "well he was so young...hes sooooo much better now"....as if hes great now.....good fighters shouldnt struggle with a guy like alcine let alone lose to him
