You're basing Abraham's chin on which fight? please don't say amateur. With his punching power and GGG not so good dense, Arthur doesn't need to throw that many punches to hurt GGG. Carl Froch who is way taller than GGG along with a very good chin had respect for Arthur Abraham's power and fought him from a very safe distance. GGG does not possess the height and reach advantage which Dirrele, Froch and Ward had over Arthur, nor is he mobile with his feet to evade Abraham's assault. Don't act like GGG has Floyd May's defense. He's a flat footed come forward fighter who's there to be hit.
He didn't mention AA's chin at all. How's that strawman coming along? Looks pretty shitty from here. AA has good power and covers up well, but he's still open to the body, has terrible workrate, and little boxing skills and instincts cause he had no worthwhile amateur career. Lots of mediocre fighters went rounds with him, Ayala, Simon, Gevor, lots more. He'll be taking 10x more punishment along the way with GGG, probably wouldn't be very fresh come late rounds to attempt a hail mary, if he even makes it that far.
I never mentioned Arthur's chin. Never had to. It wouldn't matter that it's literally titanium because, what I'm saying, in it's purest, coldest form, is this: Golovkin. will. break. Abraham's. ribs. He'll snap into them like a Slim Jim. That's it. There hasn't been a middleweight that wrecks guts like that since McCallum. Golovkin doesn't need the blueprints of Froch, Dirrel(e), or Ward. You put a guy with a turtle shell D in front of GGG, it's not going to end well for them. That defense will never defeat Golovkin. You know this, which is why you keep playing the name game instead.
Of course not. Resumes don't tell the whole story. Experience and styles tell a lot more about possible outcomes of match ups. The truth is, Loma isn't as great a step up for GRJ as people say.
Uh I don't care about Loma, didn't bring him into this thread. I brought up GRJ cause you seem to worship him, and here you have serious issues with the much better resume of GGG.
GGG's a bum. The obvious just needs to be punctuated very clearly for some. :yep Now GRJ. That kids got skills. :good
No one is playing name games with you, just breaking down boxing and boxing styles down to you. GGG's punching power is very overrated on this board. He breaks most of he's opponents down with share volume ala Vitali Klitschko. Can't believe you're comparing this guy to McCallum who was putting guys to sleep with 5 inch shots. Yes GGG will go Abraham's body, but he will do so while living his chin open for Abraham's counters. Carl Froch who had significant height advantage over Abraham rarely wen't to his body because he was worried about being countered. Edison Miranda who had poor technique took similar opposition to GGG's out in more spectacular fashion when he was a middle weight.
He 1 punch, 1 round KOed that guy that went the distance with AA and won some rounds. Who has AA stopped, except shot Taylor with 10 seconds to go? GGG is too patient for AA's wild counters, he'd be breaking him down to that soft body gradually and make AA quit
Taylor is better than anyone on GGG resume. He also KO'd Edison Miranda before his chin turned to ****.
Maybe, though I wouldn't give that Taylor much chance at all to make it to late 12th round vs GGG. He was coming off the brutal and demoralizing Froch stoppage, and got dropped by shot Lacy also. So AA's biggest achievement was stopping often (and previously) stopped fringe contender Miranda on 2nd try, thanks for the answer.
GGG is a very overrated boxer. There is a reason why Andre Wards wants to fight him. He has seen what most us have seen, which a very overrated fighter with glaring flaw which you fan boys don't want to acknowledge. Please don't say its because of GGG's size because its nothing uncommon for guys to fight guys around their weight class. We've seen great fighters like Manny, Floyd, and Cotto move up throughout there career.
Not Ward though, he's never went up and fought LHW champ at 168. But if he wanted it so much, Ward should have sent a contract, like Chavez seems prepared to do. Instead he kept boosting Chavez as an opponent, and suing his promoter. OK, so you already give him the MW division. OTOH there's many skeptics who think he's just a paper champ at MW, with much to prove. You're in good company though, Sergio's promoter was already onboard:
Not giving him the mw division. You guys claim that no one wants to fight him and everybody at middle weight is scared of him. Why don't GGG do what Adonis Stevenson did. Go up to super middle like Adonis did and fight Ward. If the man had fate in his skill set he would have done it.
Well for one Stevenson was not a titlist at 168, much less #1 Contender. Second, you're not comparing wrecked mess Dawson with p4p #2 Ward, are you? Third, as of right now Ward is the money man of the 2 and gets to make the offer. Unfortunately he didn't, but soon enough he won't be the money man, after GGG brutalizes Chavez. Then maybe GGG will be in the position to make an offer. Fortunately this former MW contender and Ward target Chavez sacked up unlike those middles, though there's still hope for Champ Martinez.
