GGG vs andre ward in the amateurs results?

    GGG just got asked on esnews has he ever fought ward in the ams and GGG said "yes and he won'...im not sure if he thought the reporter said andre direll..can anyone confirm this and put video up..?

    Ward hasn't lost since he was 14 and hasn't really had many big international fights outside of the Olympics so I am guessing he thought they meant Dirrell who he is 1-1 against.

    Yeah they fought twice In the amateurs both hold wins over each other.

    GGG won in the more meaningful fight though.

    They never fought each other. Golovkin was asked in an interview the other day about what happened when he fought Geale in the amateurs to which he replied that he won. Are you sure you're not confusing it with that video?

    Golovkin and Dirrell are 1-1 in the amateurs. Golovkin beat him 23-18 at the Olympics in Athens in 2004, and Dirrell won a 15-14 decision over him in a USA vs Kazakhstan duel in 2003 in the USA.
