ggg must fight winner of cotto/martinez.
in the meantime idc if he fights a guy like andy lee or james kirkland.
there both good fighters . i would rather see ggg fight andy lee
a guy whos fought at 160 before.

I doubt Cotto would fight GGG if he won and Martine'z promoter, Dibella , said they want Canelo after Cotto.

So besides Martinez who has a fight in June against cotto.

    Who should he fight?

    Quillin? Fights on showtime
    Mayweather? Fights on showtime
    Strum? Has always ducked him
    Barker? Retired
Ward? Trying again to get out of his promo contract
Murray? Legal issues have not allowed him to fight in us

Who's left that you can argue are better than geale lee or Kirkland.

This is terrible. I though Lee had some St Paddy's Day fight lined up? I bought every story about GGG being avoided but really, Lee. I would like to hear if this was their first choice or not.

Geale or even Kirkland would be infinitely better. Sergio More may be better at this point, certainly Rubio.

Do you have anyone in mind, or are you just talking?
Who would be a "decent opponent" in your opinion?

According to Gary Shaw, Geale passed up on the Monaco fight because he wants to fight Golovkin on HBO. I also saw an interview with Geale where he said that they passed on Monaco because were waiting to see what happened with Barker v Sturm and he also wants to fight on HBO again.

Shaw and Geale also said that they had no problem fighting GGG if they got the WBA off Felix Sturm.

Sergio Mora or even Caleb Truax would put up a better fight than Lee. Lee or Kirkland would only serve to extend his KO streak. Geale would be a solid opponent.

I do not understand. Do you feel that Geale is lining up behind Sturm like murray seems to be and has no intention of taking the Golovkin fight in June?

If Geale passes again on a fight with Golovkin among others and they are left with Lee. :dead

After Geale's crap performance on HBO against Barker he doesn't deserve to be televised, beggars can't be chooser's, if he really thought he could beat Golovkin he should have taken the fight in Monaco when it was offered.

Glad GGG is keeping busy! Good stay busy fight, nothing more, hopefully Martinez will fight him after he cashes out on Cotto.

Golovkin will fight Kirkland, Geale, or Lee in April, I just read that..............Golovkin hopes to fight the winner of Martinez/Cotto. Martinez will knock Cotto out, Golovkin beats them both by knockout!!!

The Geale interview that I was talking about was before Barker officially retired. He was waiting to see what was going to happen in regards to a potential Barker v Sturm rematch.
As of Jan. 14th, Geale is ranked #3 by the IBF with the #2 vacant and Soliman at #1. I think that Geale wants to fight Golovkin on HBO, but I also think if Felix Sturm offered him a fight next, Geale would take it(happily:D)
With what I read from Shaw and seeing that Kirkland is probably fighting Damian Jonak on the undercard, I figured it would be Golovkin vs Geale on April 26th.
Geale is fighting on Feb 19th, so maybe we hear something from him then.
