70-80 more punches to the head? Nearly had Canelo down twice? We must have watched a different fight.

Punches don't matter, Golden Girl Promotions paid money to the judges, that made the difference in scoring:nonono

While that's a decent punch count. Most of GGG's punches are touching Canelo at the very end not doing much damage.
Canelo's punches are harder and do more damage. The pitty pat punches are meaningless.

This guy also counts a lot of blocked punches as connects.

It's a good shot though. It would be better if he didn't obscure the audio of the fight with that **** rock n roll playing. Without the music we'd be able to see and hear the punches.

I like what he (Artorias) is doing more than I dislike it.

This type of analysis will one day improve to perfection.

You see this a lot with Golovkin, real time it can look like he’s copping it but when you view it back so many shots he blocks or he has his head down, chin tucked in with shots hitting the top of his head.
Cause he said known to trade to get his shots off some think he’s got poor defence when infact he knows exactly what he’s doing,on the balls of his feet and at the end of his jab he’s still a handful.

This. Golovkin's defence is far, far better in a slomo than when you watch it real time. He does small things like parry with the gloves and tucks his elbows in to pick off shots which are not very noticable when in the full swing of things. Canelo's defence looks more flashy and when he makes guys miss they miss more wildly, but is it really that much better considering the amount of energy he is expending that could have gone into offence? GGG is the connoisseur's boxer.

Re. Artorias' punch count I gave Canelo credit for a few more shots than he did but still had GGG outlanding Canelo by a healthy margin. Personally if a punch may be landing with the wrist or palm and it looks like it has an impact I'll count it. Canelo was landing more of those. What IS highlighted though is how good Golovkin's straight punching is. He really lit Canelo up there.

I think we would all prefer actual audio, but the rock music is there to help keep the video from being taken down.

..and that´s why the second fight looked very different from the first: GGG couldn´t hook with the faster Canelo so he kept his range to throw straight punches. Canelo knew this also so he kept coming forward. GGG didn´t retreat, he kept circling and stayed away from the ropes. Great job and true grit by both but GGG should have won. A part of it is GGGs subtle defense that can be hard to appreciate live but the judges are supposed to be professional..
