GGG vs Canelo 2 Punch stats - should settle the debate once and for all. 40-0

    I had GGG 8-4 both fights and tbh the second fight was not closer, it was easier to score imo.

    The only difference is that Canelo stood his ground and Golovkin fought stretches off the backfoot. The same people that were blowing their wads over "defense" and who said the aggressor isn't necessarily the winner, are now pretending that Golovkin's defensive nous doesn't exist and that Canelo won due to aggression :rolleyes: Because, you know, "the story". :rolleyes:

    My criteria are the same: GGG threw more, GGG landed more and this time round he actually had Canelo hurt. His best punches were better than in the first fight and Canelo's best shots were worse than the ones he landed in the first fight.

    Simply put: Golovkin boxed his ears off.

    Spot on mate, I actually thought GGG won the 2nd fight more convincingly, had it 117-111 right after watching it then after a rewatch gave Canelo an extra round. No matter what Canelo goes on to achieve he will be below GGG in HOF or ATG rankings as he got whooped by him twice.
