Floyd was the heavy favorite against the 38 year old Mosley.

I agree 100%. I've rewatched this fight many times, I don't have any issue scoring rounds 9-12 for Golovkin. You could also say Canelo won the 9th and 12th round.

    Awesome round.

Someone could have gotten KTFO in that round if Golovkin wouldn't if been retreating so much.

Great round, clearly won by GGG. Neither man was hurt to the point of being in danger to go down, both were fatigued. In that case you have to judge by the punches landed, GGG's work was just more consistent.

it most certainly is disturbingly weird. the narrative here isnt that it was a close fight, its that ggg beat him easier the second time. i understand someone having it close, ggg edging the fight is stretching it, ggg winning easier the second time is downright disturbing, for a boxing forum.
"ggg showed him he could beat him on the backfoot" they said, "thats why him and his team kept calling for mexican style. he outsmarted them". obviously this isnt every ggg fan, if it doesnt apply to you, then it doesnt apply to you.
i have my opinion, you have yours. i have no problem with you thinking ggg won the second fight. what i have a problem with, is these emotionally stunted man children that throw a tantrum because someone doesnt love their fighter like they do. its ridiculous how little emotional control they have, its like a teen slumber party instead of an adult discussion. i dont deal with kids in my normal life, maybe thats why i find behavior like that hard to tolerate.
if you want see the narrative started, and who started it, pull up the rd. by rd. thread.

Canelo did well to come back after a terrible 9/10/11 in which he was hurt and wobbled.

Two excellent fights, they should have done a third straight away.

Man I don't know what people look for but Canelo beat GGG ass in fight 2 in this round alone GGG has a good opening 30 seconds and landed a good shot in the last 10sec but everything in between in this round was Canelo lighting GGG up. 8-4 Canelo on my card

I'm one of the guys that felt GGG won the second fight 8-4.

Many of the things that Canelo fanboys were saying made him win the first fight were reversed this time. Canelo landed the more eye-catching and flat out bigger punches in the first. In the second it was GGG that was landing the heavy artillery. In the first Canelo was countering Golovkin ... in the second Golovkin did it to him. Canelo made GGG miss embarrassingly (lets admit it) a few times in #1. In #2 Golovkin did it to him. In the second it was clear that Golovkin wobbled Canelo once, maybe twice. In the first he did not.

But in addition to all that, Golovkin threw and landed more punches yet again.

In my opinion, that made Golovkin's win in the second more decisive. Obviously the Canelistas disagree with me and I guess that's OK.

weird aint it? you can literally count the punches landed, see the fighters reactions, and people still find a way to see only what they want to see.

its all good man i had it the first one for ggg second one for canelo

the first one canelo did not throw enough punches to win the fight and he even took breaks at times from being gassed out ggg outworked him so i gave him that one to ggg

the second fight i gave it to canelo . the jabs were good but they were not enough in my eyes for ggg to get the win even though there were moments when ggg did look like he hurt canelo that is all it was to me. "Moments " small moments at that.
To me canelo won the second one by landing more eye catching power punches, on the head and body

canelos punches looked more damaging than golovkins jabs canelo kept the pressure up despite being outjabbed constantly by golovkin

in the later rounds ggg did come back and did what he could the same way he did against derevyanchenko he came back strong and he did it well

however in my opinion it was a draw or canelo barley edging on landing the more eye catching punches/ damaging shots and applying good pressure

in overall when you sum it up you could argue and make a case that it should of been a draw maybe

but for me canelo won the second one barley edging it by the skin of his teeth

and i think jabs were not enough to win the fight

i think jabs win fights if you are not getting countered and taking damaging visible shots

in the case of floyd mayweather jabbing your opponents and they hardly land anything on him.

however differences in opinions do not bother me

I know I had a debate breaking down this exact round called out punches landed for both fighters and people still was making excuses shots that clearly missed for GGG they will say landed and shots that clearly landed for Canelo they'll call a miss

yes please, count the punches landed and show us the result. Compubox had it 22-21 for Canelo during the live broadcast. They don't go back and use all available angles and replays to objectively (as good as possible) count back.
This guy was a little more critical on both (yes, he is on GGGs side, but he is providing evidence to his claims) I credited both with 2 more landed punches each.

I wish the commissions would do this officially, with all the video material that's available. At least on request for close fights and openly present their findings. But I guess that is not really wanted, because controversy sells and keeps people talking.
