GGG vs. Canelo 2. The only square thing about it could be the ring.

I don't want GGG to win a BS decision. Judges must be right the first time. Not "oh, he got shafted on the cards the first time round, let's tip him a few points the second time round to make up for it."

Then you have 2 crap decisions instead of one.

Why do you keep saying this...of the three judges scoring the fight the only one that saw GGG winning had it 115-113. I understand not liking Byrd's scorecard (I don't like her card either), but NONE of the judges felt GGG won this fight "clean and clear". This was one of the most appropriate draws I've seen in recent years, there may have been 4 definitive rounds in the whole fight. Neither guy did anything of significance in terms of hurting each other, neither scored a knockdown, one landed more power punches and was better defensively the other pressed the action and landed more jabs. "The judges cheated me" is a childish perspective and doesn't reflect the reality of the situation.

Somebody needs to link to the thread with the summary of polls of who won this fight.

    Agreed 100%.

It makes sense that they'd pull some shenanigans like that, though. That way in the build up to fight 3 they would just act like the bad decisions canceled each other out.

It's a distinct possibility. There's no doubt that Golovkin was the beneficiary of favorable judging in the first bout gifting him a draw in a fight that he really lost. Now with all the outcry over the Byrd card, subconsciously judges may be more inclined to score more favorably to Golovkin in the rematch. Even if Canelo dominates early on, I could see judges giving rounds to Golovkin that he didn't deserve just to "keep it close" so they don't end up with a wide Canelo score like Byrd did. Bob Bennett should not allow himself to be influenced by the Golovkin fan crying over the Byrd card, he should appoint neutral judges who will judge the bout right down the middle with no favoritism for either fighter with no pressure to keep it close to appease the Golovkin fanbase.

Spot on, but realize that you're talking to a poster (BCS8) that refues to admit that the fight was even close lmao. Couldn't agree more that the draw was appropriate given how close it was. I mean I had Canelo winning, but I'm OK with the draw because I recognize that Golovkin pressed the action and hung in there with Canelo.

Somebody needs to link to the thread of all the suspect Compubox numbers that padded Golovkin numbers and low-counted Canelo's output, which gave a false impression that Golovkin greatly outlanded Canelo which influenced fans perception of the fight.

If only there was some way for us to INDEPENDENTLY record the photons from that fight, transmit them again and somehow receive them so that we could ... making this up now ... "see" for ourselves what happened. We'd need some sort of organ, maybe on our faces, that could receive and decode photons. I wish somebody would invent it so that we didn't have to rely on Compubox.

That or we could just share relevant timestamps and confirm each other's observations. But you don't do that kind of stuff right.

Lol he got me to revisit the fight to try and see it from his point of view, alas despite having no favourite in this fight I still see one of the most one sided fights on a par with Saunders v Lemieux it’s one of my all time fav fights and I give Canelo credit for it but that’s all I’m afraid.

Sanchez before the fight:"If we get robbed on the cards, it's our fault".

So what was the game plan? Avoid getting to the body by fear of getting countered.

Avoiding the body= best way to ensure the fight goes 12 rds.

Hope they made plenty of $$$, all of them.
Now we know why fishnets accepted the GGG challenge.
