People were saying that Canelo could improve here and there etc and GGG had nowhere to grow after the first fight.

The second fight brought interesting things that basically Canelo tried to be more aggressive and less frightened as he was in first fight, he was using his stamina more wisely, he tried more bodyshots and that's it.

Most interesting things were happening in the second half of the fight where GGG had basically adapted to Canelo and overall was more comfortable landing more than half of his power punches. Canelo had almost nothing serious to respond to GGG.

Speaking about the third fight I do have a feeling that Canelo won't be able to offer anything new to GGG while GGG had got full understanding how to handle Canelo. In the third fight, given that GGG will be able to keep his form close to second fight, GGG will win and judges won't be able to help Canelo.

What are your thoughts about it?

GGG has started slow in both fights and he'd be another year older. Although he did find an uppercut to go with his jab.

I'd like to see a third fight. It will be the first time I've favoured Canelo to win.

I think GGG has earned a third fight based on the strength of his performances in the first two.

It has to be in Las Vegas though.

Las Vegas will forever be synonymous with this trilogy of fights (if we happen to see a third).

Massive hill for GGG to climb third time around. I don't think he can do it but stranger things have happened.

He's got to go for it, surely.

I think golovkin should take it, in the same way Marquez took the fights with Pacquiao even though he was getting hard done by on the scorecards. That one official win Marquez got meant more than the 3 other fights as it put the official W on paper.

Golovkin has nothing to lose legacy wise at this point against Canelo, he can go in there, legitimately lose and people will say he’s irrefutably slipping, as he’s got worse with each fight against the same opponent. It adds another L on paper, but at this point so what? He’s already got one loss and a draw to Canelo anyway that will lose context over the years (in terms of the scoring & who really won) so a legitimate one makes no odds at this point imo. If he gets another decision go relatively unfairly against him then still the exact same situation as he’s in now (legacy-wise)

If the unexpected happens and he goes in there and lands a shot which takes Canelo out, which we’ve seen can happen at any point in a fight/rematch/trilogy, even one where no one has appeared to be hurt by monstrous shots in a number of previous rounds, then he has his official W.

Or he actually gets the decision go his way, but I think the knockout is more likely at this point, which is very unlikely in itself.

All in all, nothing to lose over his current situation imo.

What's the point, other than for the money? If it goes to the cards he will get shafted a third time.

If there is a 3rd fight Canelo will stop GGG.
